I think it did make a difference having the pod, the box just minimises dirt and crap building up on the filter. Yeah, someone was telling me that Ferozas have the lower half galvanised (what I've been told), I'm assuming that's the body, so as long as the rest of the chassis is ok, hopefully you won't have any dramas with the rest of the car, but if u do get it repaired, keep a good close eye on the chassis ...
