there appears to be a lot more at stake with a JK Lift.

So far from my 2.5" procomp lift i have had two major dramas. Would not recommend this lift to ANYONE, go for something like the AEV where you get all the extras like swaybar links.

any rattling ... my wifes had a slight bang and rattle sounded like a bolt in a washing machine ..was the torque converter ... or somewhere thereabouts. quoted around 8k to rebuild. bought a second hand one from southern 4x4 for $1600 and spent about $400 on beer and oils/filters.

hey oozuk - must say get the vapour injection gas. Got it put on my NM and if i drive nice get 400+ kms for just under 60 liters - if im going crazy with the right foot have never had under 300 kms. Power is no different - absolutely awesome.

but the supercharges would be fn sweet !!!

I was wondering if an MK triton with 6g72 24valve 3.0 v6 motor would have the SAME transfer case as an NG pajero with 6g72 12valve 3.0 v6 motor. My father in law with the MK, his triton wont stay in low range gear - if you keep power to it its ok but as soon as you back off it pops out. I ...

when i did my body lift - only 2" - i move the radiator down 2" so it was same position in relation to motor again - then all hoses/shroud/etc fit the same - just had to notch a little around cap to make it easier to get on and off. The shroud is there for a BIG reason - amazing the ...

i have the exact same problem, i have removed the diff a couple of times and replaced the circlip on the spline twice. Pops out after rocky ground/4wding/etc .... pops out about 5mm to let oil out and water in.

I have spare parts from a spare paj and have changed axels/bearings/oil seal/etc ...

funny about this, im in the process of doing all bearings on car ..two week saga so far.

i check diff and trans fluids after every meeting with the water ... but have had some noises of late ... bearings were ok ...but the smaller bearing on the inside of the hubs (where the cv pokes into) was non ...

my underhalf has one and have used it a few times to recover me no worries with just standard tyres. The locked transfer and rear lsd make it pretty good in the slop. When the tyres run down will go for something a bit more meaty.

my nf has some mods on it but one day would love to start on hers :)

im all for the lokka and they have come down in price these days ....

mine hasnt let me down - apart from spitting the drivers side front axel ...but i fixed that by replacing the whole from diff from cv to cv from my donor "rolled" car :)

i just gotta save for the reduction gears :(

well all done, 37 degree heat - one non shimmed lsd and a tailshaft (unis were stuffed - but had spares).

tested lsd spins both wheels nicely and next to no backlash ...

happy again (apart from the wallet).

Imlachs was the cheapest i could find

lsd has 4 frictionplates and 4 friction discs

friction plates $160ea ... friction discs $130ea ........bullocks !! from mitsi

imlachs has centers for $440 with 6mths warranty.......

anyone else got some cheaper options ...besides welding which is becoming more viable by the ...

well my vb shimmed up lsd finally ran out of booze .....

looks like the constant heavy right foot has caused the vb cans to twist and stretch .... locking up the lsd and caused the friction plates to snap !!

so hopefully i can source just the friction plates/discs ...which should lead me to not ...

swaybars ... throw em away .... just added weight to the vehicle.

ive yet to remove the front - but with the back removed ive noticed more boat roll - but its entertaining (and makes me drive slower).

gday again people.

Before i pull out the books - anyone know how to adjust what revs your car idles at when cold, mine currently is about 2100rpm ....ShortyIQ loud at 7am with the 2 1/4 system ........

i want it around 1200-1300rpm. Idles perfectly at 750-800rpm when warmed up !

any quick tips ...
