Re: CA18 into sierra

I have a ca18de in a sj413. engine from a s13 silvia with factory silvia auto. Most of that era nissan autos are the same centre section (ca, sr, 300zx, rb20, and terrano/pathfinder) Patrol and twin turbo 300zx have same val;ve body but have more clutch packs than the others.

My engine is on ...

Re: Suzuki ute pics

Spike - that axle has been moved back, but it's all been done with the springs. See how much of the spring is visible in front of the rear wheels? On a stock sierra an equal amount of spring will be visible fore and aft of the tyre.

I'm not convinced the chassis has been cut but I could be wrong ...

Re: Suzuki ute pics

Its had the rear 300mm or so cut off the chassis which might make it look like the axle has been moved back.

if its a wide track sierra (going by your display pic you do) then they are on the rear wheels. Take the tyres and drums off and have a look for yourself. You will see the handbrake entering through the side of the drum backing plate.

Dank: that doesn't make you a fence sitter, I don't think it's the fact that people don't like diff gears all together it's just that diff gears alone don't offer low enough gearing. You would have been more controlled driving that with 6.5s then with 5.12s. Joes zook goes well becaus. It's auto and ...

I don't know why people are against tcase gearing over diffs, you will always find an instance when you wish you had lower gearing. That vid shows it, gearing would mean you could have let the clutch out fully allowing you to consentrate more on other things. I really think we need a comparison ...

I disagree with Joe (respectfully). I was watching a youtube clip of a car that joe had built (4play) and geared via diff gears. The car is RPM's blue hardtop/bushwacker flares/SPOA and 33/34" combo. It was trying to do a simple step up but kept stalling, and had to give it plenty of berries to stop ...

coily:

BAD
No reduction gears available unless you change to a leafy tcase
chain driven transfer tends to skip due to worn chains
weak bracketry/control arms
no front locker option
weird length diffs - cant change with leaf gear
rarer than leaf
engines have a dendancy to go bang
cannot lift as ...

- Fuel rail has its own fuel pressure regulator (FPR)
- I would suggest running the filter after the fuel pump - they hate sucking through filters.

GTI injectors are rated around 270cc. I went up to CA18's at 380cc when I turbo'd mine and the duty cycles are really safe at 11.5afr @ 10psi. Depending on boost and how safe you want it I'd probably suggest the GTi injectors may be getting on their limit. As for intake temps the only reliable way ...

he used the larger sc14 rather than the 4agze's sc12. With both types you will struggle with pulley sizes and standard boost pressures.

because it zook already had a 4a motor in it, so it would be easier to keep it 4a series based, and really vit motor has nothing on a 4age. Suzuki motors are pretty lame when it comes to power/smoothness and upgrading.

mines a bit deceptive like yours ajsr,
only 2 inch body lift, longer springs, maybe 2 inch lift, with shackles/moves spring mounts to reflect longer springs.
bashed guards, diff moved forward and cut headlight bucked to fit 33x12.5's.

Because you want the gearing to mostly benefit the lowrange gearing, Diff gears (vit CW&P 5.12:1) will not give you low enough final drive. (gwagensteve has figures somewhere)

Gearbox changes are not an option, to expensive and will ruin your highrange.

Lowrange reduction gears can be purchased ...
