Thank's bazzle, ill pop it up on some stand's and let it sit then give it a bleed and see how i go.

Ok loosened off the hose a touch at the back of the pump to make sure it's pumping out fluid and it was.

Oil was froffy and light pinkish instead of dark redish color of power steering fluid.

Might try jacking it up and giving the system a bleed is it worth a shot.

Could there be water in the oil ...

Yeah my problem is though is that the power steering is now heavy all the time since then, it's like trying to steer it while the engine's shut off its really really heavy.

Any idea's.

Having a problem with my power steering.

Was out wheeling and all of a sudden while going through some rutty terrain she went really heavy.

I jumped out checked fliud and belt and it's all fine, it's not leaking from the box either and it's not a seized steering pump coz it's all ...

BTW will all type's of suzuki driveline's such as engine's aswell as various sorts of gearbox's go into a 83 model if he gets it.

IE.. if he wants to put a vitara 1.6 & vitara 5spd in down the track will it go straight in or does he have to get mod's done to make them fit.

Would he be better ...

Ok guys we went and looked at it again on sunday, and thanks to Gwagensteve's advice ive identified it as a 83 model 1.0ltr 4spd sierra softtop.

Look's very very tidy and had very good power for a 1ltr car i must say, guy wants $2000 for it but im sure he might negotiate a little lower.

Ok thanks guys, how do i tell if its 1ltr or 1.3ltr....he was told its a 1.3ltr by the owner but basically he could say about anything just to offload his car.

Apparently its very clean and well looked after.

Are they easy to covert to 1.6 and 5spd's or even 1.6 with the factory 4spd or ...

Ok guys my mates just today takin a look at a clean 83 model soft top yellow in color, apparently its very clean and has a 1.3ltr motor and 4speed the owner sez..is that right?? Or is he talking crap.

Is there any probs he should look out for with them when we go re-check it out this weekend ...

A freinds looking at buying a cheap zook to build as a project weekend play thing.

Now he wants it for some hard offroad work such as minor rock crawling, also deep mud and water crossing's etc.

He wants to know which is the best model zook to buy and mod..ie..vitara, sierra in any year..etc ...

The downfall is the TB42 turbo wouldnt like to rev hard..ie..4500-5000rpm tops.Also there's not much good aftermarket gear for them such as heavy duty steel rod's, off the shelf forged piston's..etc

With the smaller engines like the shorter stroke RB30 you have all that sort of stuff off the ...

Crawling under 800rpm in low range is no problems at all.

Idles smoothly on about 600rpm and will crawl just fine.

Whats wrong you sound shocked about a 6cyl petrol running 21psi???

There's nothing wrong with the 3ltr RB30 engined patrol's although they are gutless standard.

A freind has one and he fitted it up with a refreshened 0-ringed VL Turbo engine with largish aftermarket ball bearing turbocharger thats good for up to 700hp, external wastegate, aftermarket engine ...
