Re: Turbo 700 auto conversion to 75 Series
Thanks evanstaniland I'll swat up on the T700 a bit more and look in to it. Apparently the stall converter should also be set around 1300rpm for the chev diesel. Any thoughts on the transfercase adaptor? does anything need to be done to the output shaft? and also what about the cross member mounting ...

Re: Turbo 700 auto conversion to 75 Series
Thanks Damien, will be very interested in the converter and auto if your bro in law wishes to let it go. Whats your opinion on the auto vs manual for the 6.5? My engine broke a crankshaft with the manual, but im convinced it was more than the gearbox that caused it! Yes big bucks, big piss off!! the ...

Re: Turbo 700 auto conversion to 75 Series
Yeah, though engine pretty tame at 530NM tourque - 8psi boost. Will chat with marks. Just not overly sure about the cross member fitting, kick down cable assembly and shifter set up etc.

Turbo 700 auto conversion to 75 Series
Gidday, Can anyone tell me the best way to fit up a turbo 700R4 behind a 6.5GM TD? I have this engine in a 75 series cruiser ute and goes unbeleivably well but I'm sick of the 5spd. The engine has a mountain of tourqe and at very low RPM so the auto sounds like the go. The ratio in the T700 is also ...

Re: 1 HD-T v 1 HD-FT engines
Guys, In summary to this topic, would it be fair to say that both 1HDt and 1HD-FT engines are as good as one another in terms of strength and longevity?

Re: 1 HD-T v 1 HD-FT engines
Thanks a lot for all your input, makes more sense now. I figured the factory TD may be stronger than the std 1HZ, but certainly didn't know about the 1HD-T being direct injection....very interesting.

1 HD-T v 1 HD-FT engines
Gidday, Can anyone tell me what the main difference is between the 1 HD-T and the 1 HD-FT is? I understand that the physical appearance of the 1 HD-T looks very much like a 1HZ engine but I would hope that it is marginaly stronger to cope with the factory turbo application. The 1 HD-FT looks ...

Re: Nissan Patrol 3.0L TD info
Thanks Tweek'e, I was obviously confused with the fact that some GU wagons were advertised as either MPI or DI on carsales.com. Another point of interest is what is the main difference between the GU DX and ST models? Theres so many different badges that it doe's my head in trying to determine what ...

Nissan Patrol 3.0L TD info
Gidday, Can anyone tell me what the best option is for purchasing a 3.0L TD? I'm at a loss trying to figure out what the difference is between the Multi point injection(MPI) and the Direct injection(DI) engines.... and what year did they change over from the MPI to the DI? I'm looking for a wagon 3 ...

Nissan GU 4.2TD wagon?
Hi there, I'm looking in to buying a Nissan Patrol GU wagon for the wife. I'm not familiar with the Nissans at all! I've been a toyota man for many years. Can anyone tell me if the GU wagons came out with the 4.2TD engines or they all 3.0 TD's? If they did then what year? she also prefers the auto ...
