I doubt the rear diff is bent but a quick little way to check if it's still pointing true is wet an area of flat concrete and drive dead straight across then have a look at the marks left buy your tyres

Yeah I love it they are pretty close to the width of a GQ housing and I'll try and take some pics soon

I don't know if this has been done before but thought I'd let everyone know. Just did a rear cool conversion in my hilux and actually used the rear diff out of a NH pajero. And soo far is the best thing ever. It's a 9.5 inch diff, standard 4.875 gears, standard with 31 spline axles, disc brakes ...

I'd try putting a fresh gasket on there, make sure you put a blob of sealant on where the cam caps sits and also re-tension all the bolts after 500 Kms, it takes a little while for the gaskets to settle down properly of they are new
