Current hilux and 33's

Hi guys, Just a quick question for those with the current model hiluxes. I am looking to sell my patrol and move across to a hilux, but my Patrol and camper all run 285/75R16 tyres on 16x8" rims. The hilux I'm looking at has a 2" lift but will it accept this size tyre? I know the tyres are bloody ...

Looking to do a ZD30 intercooler upgrade.

Hi guys, looks like the factory ZD30 intercooler may be leaking again, and this time its not under Nissan warranty. The car is a 2005 GU IV with 160K on it. It sometimes only boosts about 4psi on the flat on the hiway bringing the EGTs up. Just wondering what some of you guys have replaced your ...

Thanks guys for the replies. Bogfrog, my thoughts were along the lines of yours, ie making sure the cranking battery can start the car. Drivesafe I read your thoughts when i searched this topic before posting and can understand that point of view too. But still just as confused.

Which battery for wiring to winch?

A quick question to those of you who would know more than me. I have a 2005 Patrol with dual batteries- standard cranking (nearly 3 years old)and and aux battery - marine 70Amp/hr can't remember CCA 2years old. These are linked together with a Pirana DBS180S. I have a 9500lblow mount to install in ...

Have you read the zd30 tech doco on patrol forum. From my understanding this is what the turbo was supposed to do to prevent overboosting. Mine does the same thing, gets to 18psi then drops to <10psi. From which pipe have you got your boot guage measuring? As this can also make a difference. Mine ...

So is the original question "Which is better a GQ Patrol with an RB30 petrol, or an 80 Series Cruiser with a 1HZ 4.2l diesel?" Or have I misinterpretted? Edit: Sorry just read the title. Don't think there was a 4.2l petrol 80 series Cruiser. There was the 3F which was 4.0l and the 4.5l in the later ...

Do you need new tyres or would second hand do? If you need new try Maxxis Buckshot or Nankang Mud Star, both reasonable tyres and much cheaper than a BFG. If you don't need new try the For Sale section under tyres/wheels or a wrecker.

Sorry this isn't a comment on the lokka, but to whitemav re $1000 an end for auto locker. I investigated an ARB air locker at the Bris 4x4 show in April and it was going to cost $1980 for a front, fitted with compressor. I also spoke to TJM about a Prolocker and i believe they are slightly more ...

I believe fullriver batteries can be obtained from Spingers. 2 stores, one at Tingalpa and one Lawnton/Strathpine on the northside.

I would have to agree with Paul. After just finishing much research on this just recently, i found that AGM batteries, like Fullriver, did justifiably the same job as Odessey, just at much better prices. You'll probably find you'll get a bigger 20Hr rating for better price, with out sacrificing ...

With a hilux and no dealer books i would be a little wary. If there is considerable sign of beach work and no book then i would just steer clear, as hiluxs are really common, so there should be no difficulty finding one thats been well looked after.

I had troubles with my hazards not working after hooking up the camper trailer and switching them on to test the lights. Told Nissan at time of service and they said it was a common problem, and replaced the 10amp (i think) fuse with a 15amp and no more problems. Hope this helps.

They are very easy to make. I made 3 and still had change from $20. I went to steel place and got a piece of scrap heavy wall (5mm) 50mm square tube, cut into 3. Then took it to a fab place who then drill the tube for the pin and bolted reovery hooks to 2 and welded 12mm plate to the 3rd. This one ...
