Current hilux and 33's
Hi guys, Just a quick question for those with the current model hiluxes. I am looking to sell my patrol and move across to a hilux, but my Patrol and camper all run 285/75R16 tyres on 16x8" rims. The hilux I'm looking at has a 2" lift but will it accept this size tyre? I know the tyres are...

Looking to do a ZD30 intercooler upgrade.
Hi guys, looks like the factory ZD30 intercooler may be leaking again, and this time its not under Nissan warranty. The car is a 2005 GU IV with 160K on it. It sometimes only boosts about 4psi on the flat on the hiway bringing the EGTs up. Just wondering what some of you guys have replaced your fact...

Which battery for wiring to winch?
A quick question to those of you who would know more than me. I have a 2005 Patrol with dual batteries- standard cranking (nearly 3 years old)and and aux battery - marine 70Amp/hr can't remember CCA 2years old. These are linked together with a Pirana DBS180S. I have a 9500lblow mount to install in t...

Have you read the zd30 tech doco on patrol forum. From my understanding this is what the turbo was supposed to do to prevent overboosting. Mine does the same thing, gets to 18psi then drops to <10psi. From which pipe have you got your boot guage measuring? As this can also make a difference. Mine co...

Sorry this isn't a comment on the lokka, but to whitemav re $1000 an end for auto locker. I investigated an ARB air locker at the Bris 4x4 show in April and it was going to cost $1980 for a front, fitted with compressor. I also spoke to TJM about a Prolocker and i believe they are slightly more expe...

I would have to agree with Paul. After just finishing much research on this just recently, i found that AGM batteries, like Fullriver, did justifiably the same job as Odessey, just at much better prices. You'll probably find you'll get a bigger 20Hr rating for better price, with out sacrificing qual...

Mine is mounted on the pipe coming out of the intercooler. Easy to do. Go to hydrolic/hose place, get 1/8th stainless boss and matching brass barb. REmove intercooler pipe, drill hole and weld in boss. Screw in barb. Refit pipe. Press on boost guage pipe (or use a short length of silicone hose to ho...

With my drawer system, it finished about level with the end of the high tensile attachment point, which meant you can't clip/unclip the restraint when needing to move it from car to car. So i just raised the drawers clipped on one of the approved extension straps (can get them in a couple of differen...

There will be a lot of info on here about the problems associated with the ZD30, and the fuel consumption issues with the 4500. Just look under search. I test drove a 4500 a couple of years back, before fuel prices went up, and was scared off, but it was a great car to drive. I researched a lot into...

New Hankook RT03 M/T's
Just a quick check to see if anyone has driven on these tyres. I have come across a set of 285/75/16s that are pretty cheap. There are to go on a 2005 Patrol, 3in lift, 3.0TD. Yes i have 16 inch rims for them. I do a fair amount of driving up at cruiser park and around Jimna and G/house mountains. M...

I run directly from my aux battery, thick cable >6mm with circuit breaker. Even with this i suggest only having the fridge on while travelling, and as you suggest straight on gas at the camp site. it is a pain in the @rse when moving on a daily basis ast they are heavy succkers to lift in and out es...

I have a similar set up (3.0 LWB 2005) used to tow camper etc, but i have steel b'bar, and rear draws. I have recently installed a Pedders set up, using the 4.2 springs in the front and xtra HD in rear, with matched foam cell shocks. This set have given me about 60mm lift in front and close to 70mm ...

You're right RAY185, the Bigballs piece is a solid section, with the rear section lathed (or milled?) to fit the 4.7T shackle. I just used the heavy wall tube as it was available and i don't have access to the equipment to copy that design. The hooks are bolted using 2, 10mm 8.8grade high tensile bo...

They are very easy to make. I made 3 and still had change from $20. I went to steel place and got a piece of scrap heavy wall (5mm) 50mm square tube, cut into 3. Then took it to a fab place who then drill the tube for the pin and bolted reovery hooks to 2 and welded 12mm plate to the 3rd. This one h...
