I have had good experiences with Total Traction Drivelines in Moorabbin. Talk to Matt on 03-95551501. Nah, just the bearings wore creating freeplay that caused problems. As you say, they are pretty tough so the crown and pinion are probably all right.

Need to rebuild my rear diff

Hi All, My rear diff is quite noisy and the pinion seal is leaking quite badly. It looks like I need to rebuild it. Can anyone in Melbourne give me the names of where they have had this sort of rebuild done along with costs and work done? I have not pulled it apart to discover whether I have ...

You might find something useful here: http://www.lextreme.com/1uzfe.html

As far as running the thing you could just use your stock ECU with an interceptor like a UniChip, SMT-6 or Chiptorque Xeed to tweak the mixtures. Going to aftermarket ECU would be a little extreme!

Engine size has pretty much nothing to do with it I think. Compare the 3L nissan ZD30 with the Iveco 3L engine you find in their smaller truck chassis. One is known to be weak and almost certainly would be classified as light duty. The other is a solid chunk of cast iron that can take huge amounts ...

A bit of research seems to indicate 1 1/16" which would be almost 27mm as you say. All I can say is wow! That is the same size that a friend of mine has on his Iveco truck!

Looks like I will get a supply of 22mm and 27mm sockets in to sell with my wrenches then.

What is the nut size for the Range Rover? I am the guy who has been selling the 500Nm 12V impact wrenches on eBay (although I am temporarily very low on stock) and I ship with 17mm, 19mm, 21mm and 23mm. This is fine for Nissan owners like me but I have since found out that 'cruisers are 22mm! For ...

Wouldn't it be safer to just use an impact wrench? Either an air or even one of those 12V electric types would remove the nut easily without risking damage to abything.

While the standard kit thermo can measure very high temps (I stuck mine into the flame on my stove until it read 600C+) the housing and cable are plastic so will melt a few minutes later as the heat soaked up the probe. Best to buy the right thing first go as the first guy did.
