I did tanks either side of the tail shaft. They hang from the round tube ebhind the transfer and at the back from a hanger I welded onto the upper links mounting point.

I made mine out of 4.5mm alu and have a 3mm Domex plate on the underbelly. Alu is lighter and the welds are way bigger. Hopefully ...

I've had mine in for 6 years now, starting to give some hassles. They don't seem to last forever. On my Lux I also had one die on me after about 7 years.

The resistor as far as I remember must not be in circuit and you have to unplug the points and condenser. They run rough when the gap between ...

Turps, have a look at the spec sheets for the different airbags, You'll see the spring rates from their and that you can play with them quite a bit. I settled on something that stays fairly constant till you start bottoming out.

On corrugation the softer shock works as well as slow stuff, but I think the bigger stuff at speed will still require a harder shock. I'd still go for a harder shock, my Rancho Pro's are set at max and they work really well. But at high speed over bigger stuff I can still feel that the shock could ...

I have had airbags in front and rear now for over 3 years. The ride is really great, way better than my EMU coils I had previously. I ride a lot harder and faster with the bags, they just even the bad bits out better. The bags have a very low natural frequency so don't need a heavy shock for ...

Thanks guys, I also thought so but it doesn't hurt to ask. Will post as soon as it is done. The radius arm will be made out of 32mm thick 650MPa Roqtuf, very similar to your Bizalloy.

Thanks again.

Johhny Joint for Radius Arm End

Hi Guys

Would a Johnny Joint handle the loads if used at the chassis end of a radius arm? I want to make new radius arms that attach behind and below the transmission crossmember on my GQ. They will end up about 1100mm from axle to chassis end. I was thinking of using a big johnny style joint at ...

Just a note on the airbags, for the back of a GQ you don't need any mounting hardware, just 2 holes in the top spring perch and if you want you can drill a hole in the botom spring mount forward of the current hole in the centre. The Firestone bag fits without any problems and no rubbing anywhere. I ...

Firestone 1T14-c7 and the exact one is W01-358-5426

It has 6.8" collapsed height and 21.7" fully extended.

Go to Interactive catalogue and search for 1t14c-7 and then pick the number W number from above to see specs.

I reckon then for Hig Speed stuff a 60% up and 40% down would be good and then set up the castor at 2 degrees for this situation. If I then drop the susspension 1" I get a 50/0 ratio but my castor increases a bit which I suppose isn't that bad when crawling. Or is it?

37's on 15" or 17" rims?

I am running 35's on 15" rims at the moment. Want to upgrade to 37 soon and add beadlocks. Is it more adviseable to stick to the 15" rims or go up to 17". Easy to get rims for 15" but tyres a bit more difficult. Difficult to get 17" rims but tyres easier.
