rear windows no go is a common problem, easy fix if you can handle a soldering iron.

i fixed mine by following this:

http://www.discoweb.org/window/index.htm

My 95 3.9 auto Disco has never used less than 18l/100km on LPG even when driven gently on the highway.

Think 30l+/100km in hard going, low range.

One trip we used 240l lpg/ulp, 300tdi on same trip used 80l diesel.

The V8 sounds great but it sure loves a drink

I run the Serengeti muds 31 10.5 x 15 on my Disco. Very happy with them offroad but they are crap on bitumen ( as expected, noisy & pricks to balance ) compared to the BFG A/Ts we used to run. Paid $ 165 each last year, they are wearing ok but they dont do much bitumen as they are only our play ...

My 3.9 auto Disco gets 22-24 l/100km on LPG

Hard off road use can see fuel consumption double!!!!

My worst was 29ltrs LPG for 68km, 90% low range

Not a problem while lpg is cheap & we play close to home

Hi Phippsey

I had the exact same problem in my 95 Disco

It was a dry soldered joint on the elec window circuit board behind the glovebox

There is a good description of the problem & the solution on discoweb.org

I would work on 40l per 100 km for low range.

I dont have the actual figures but 90kmh seems to use heaps less than 110kmh on the highway

might make sense up there as I imagine ulp is not available everywhere

cheers

Hi Stuee Our 95 3.9 auto does 18-22l/100km fully loaded & towing a 6 x 4 trailer on the highway. Thats on LPG, petrol is about 10% better. Double that for low range work (our worst was 29ltrs for 68km lpg) We carry 90 lt ulp & 70 lt lpg and have a safe highway range of only about 700 km ( and lots ...
