I was thinking of 31x9ish or 195x85 but can't seem to find any similar in size..
Also up the back I'm after some really wide tyres, say 31-32" but as wide as possible? Anyone know of a good tyre? I've only ...

Re: 05+ hilux suspension on older lux

Thanks heaps mate, that's what I needed to hear.. so how do 37's go in relation to the tyre clearance from the cab? My 33's on stock leaves look like they would hit, bumpstops obviously stop the tyres from moving up to much, but 3+" back isn't a bad thing.. I want some 37's so with the diff moved ...

Yea New exaust really isn't a problem, but to all chargers need an oil feed? I thought I read that the Eaton chargers have their own oil.. or am I being silly haha
Twin charging would be good, maybe in the future when I build my new motor..

Re: supercharged lux

Yea look I think I will try it, I'm gathering some info, and then I will start collecting bits and pieces lol
But yea, I think it will be simple enough to set up, cheap to do, and it will be different to turboing, it will be mainly used offroad, but it will see some road miles.. but ill bolt it up ...

Re: supercharged lux

Well here are some benefits I can see..
Well obviously I want more power throughout the whole power curve but.
1. Will fit virtually any engine, the sc14 can spin either way yet still make boost, so if ever I did an engine swap it would more than likely suit it aswell..
2. It can be switched on and ...

supercharged lux

hey guys, im just going over ways to get more useable power out of the lux..
turbocharging has been done to death, not that its bad but it has a lot of fiddling around involved and kits can get quite expensive..
so why not supercharge it? simple consept, belt spins, sucks air in from idle to high ...

Re: New cage/bar work rules

Sorry to hijack the thread but I'm just about to start building my comp tray, I emailed racetech steel asking for prices on steel that is used for rollcages ect. He replied with two options for the steel tubing and he said they are both cams approved I'm just unsure of which to buy..

Re: Power plant for a Hilux!?!

Well what about a 4y? I don't know much about the petrol motors but I assume its bigger and better than the 3y. Or perhaps a 22r like the yanks run, but as I said before I have no idea how it would bolt up ect, but they have a fair amount of aftermarket support from America and are cheap to source ...

Re: Power plant for a Hilux!?!

You can easily have your v6 for under 3k lol a commo v6 is supercheap and adaptors are easy to find even an older 5ltr v8 is cheap enough..
The 3ltr diesels go well, I drove one the other day with a dts turbo kit and it flew ! But I assume it would blow your budget abit..
In the end it comes down to ...

05+ hilux suspension on older lux

Hey guys, this may be a common question but I can't really find the answers I'm after..
1. How long are new model hilux springs? Are they longer then ifs rears?
2. Has anyone fit them on older luxes? What mods did you have to do?
3. Is the width of the springs the same as older saf luxes?

If ...

Re: ideas on the new project?

Well I'm wanting a bit of both, I really want something I can say I 'built' I don't want an 'off the shelf' car like a lux on 35's or a gq.. so something unique is the aim..
The pajero idea does sound okay, does anyone have any pics of similar cars?
