Large diameter wheel balance place - Sydney ?

Anyone know where to get a good balance done on some heavy 35's in Sydney? I just had a new set balanced again, taken off the balancer and put straight back on and got different weights by up to 140g. Spent nearly 3 hours there trying to work it out, balanced on cones and on fingers with the same ...

bucket loads of rain down there (i.e. torrential) over the weekend, hopefully that will stay in the ground if there's not too much wind and keep the dust down.

this issue is a little different (and its a 1hdt pump)... it idles at 650 and the next second its at 400, next second its back up at 800, and sometimes if you leave it idleing on a hill, the revs will start decreasing until it shuts down (and there is plenty smoke btw) This was an issue with the ...

Re: increasing power output of 1HD-T

While I would like more power, I dont want to sacrifice reliability(not too much anyway) ;) Simplest way for you is a Safari front mount intercooler & a 3" exhaust (Beaudesert or similar). All bolt on, then have it tuned properly and you should see gains of at least 30-35%. I went this way (or very ...

You might find they scrub on the front guards as well, at the top under full compression, and on the bolt head at the bottom front inner guard. I needed a body lift to stop them cracking the join at the top of the inner and outer guards as the tyres weree always hitting fully compressed. With a 2 ...

Yep, it will show different results, but for comparison, all runs were done in the same gear. Dak Dak, can you qualify that you can adjust timing with the DP chip ? D-Tronic chips are adjustable as well, as with most, you just need the software. That article also talks about signal input, and I'm ...

Nope, you can take it off a Navara and put it on a 100 series with no changes - ask them.

I should add, the D-Tronic is far superior to the DP chip, as it is engine specific, not a generic "one size fits all" like the DP is.

If you want real power, go for the Safari "high output" system. I got a 50% increase atw on an '06TD auto, and can break traction on both front tyres off the mark in the dry, and all four in the wet. Works out at about 187kW & 585Nm.

Yeehaaa..........

Smithie, I once fitted a 1HDT into my old 60 series. I found that the engine starved of fuel in mid revs under really hard acceleration, mainly up short steep hills,, and that was mostly fixed by fitting 12mm fuel lines, and using the original 6mm line as the return. I later put a Walbro on which ...

I've just had the ATS kit added. For the first week it had no bar work on the car, so while it was a little firm, it still rode quite smooth and controlled, and not as bumpy as OEM. Last night I took it for a run again, but I'd just spent a couple of days fitting front and rear bars, battery ...

Too heavy a spring for the load. Medium load (constant) would be rear bar and drawers in the back, all the time, which would see the hanger sitting correctly and not vertically. The spring arch will drop a little over time too.
Fit the new shackles, problem solved.

it has lots of calcium in it to help the dodgy factory big end bearings in toyotas. if, however, your engine was built with good aftermarket main and big end bearings (ACL are probably the best), then you can use any quality diesel oil. DD The calcium doesn't help the bearings, it's a cleaning ...

my 60 with 35's was exactly 10 % out according to the GPS and the distance markers. The 60's speedo and odo are pretty much spot on for 750/16's which area a 32" tyre, so 32 + 10% = 35.2, close enough. Get yourself a 10% box from Marks or similar (although Marks will tell you you need a 16% box ...

I tried it once as abit of an experiment to see what difference it would make. One big hill (bulli pass) and they came straight back off. The little electric motors are no match for a big petrol/diesel engine. (sorry to ruin you sale dowser, I've got some lying around too ! )
