Prado 120 Grande Rear Shocks - Replacement

Hi,

I am replacing the rear shocks in my 120 Prado. The factory shocks are adjustable in this model however.

Can anyone who has experience in this please let me know how I should disconnect / disable the in dash adjustment for shock firmness?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

3rd Row Seat in GQ

Hi All, We have the normal bench 3rd row seat in the GQ. However we want to put in a fridge slide etc, which means removal of the 3rd row seat. I am wondering if it is possible to put in a split rear seat into the back of the GQ, like the one from the GU? If anyone has done this before, or know how ...

Hmm.

Since nobody mentioned it - 2 inch body lift and a bit of guard cutting and your Paj will fit 36's no probs :)

But hey - horses for courses.

Thanks.

Have pulled it apart and no obvious breakages. Each of the cogs in those gears appears to be ok.

I have noticed one issue. I can hand rotate the top cog, and the end cog, but not the middle one.

Can that be an issue?

Winch Locking Up

Hi All, Got a 12000lb lowmount winch. When we hook it up and winch, it seems to pull inwards fine. However, when the load is heavy, the winch comes to a point and obviously can pull inwards no more. When this happens, the problem that we are having is that when we try to let the winch cable out, the ...

Are you planning to run them all the time or just have them as bush bashing tyres? If its the second option, you'll be fine with some low range gears. If you want to run them all day....then you will have to put a lot more thought into it. Steering, brakes, gear ratios, clutches, axles, cv's....and ...

Yeah I have to say these gears are awesome. I had to wait about 6 months for mine - stick em in and you can run 35/36 no worries. They are a bitch to install, but it can be done. Luckily I had help from Frank and a couple of other mates. I put them in not so much to get more power for climbing but ...

With the gears you have heaps more grunt (usable) for uphill and of course a nice sloooow 1st for downhill. Highly recommended. PS ...

Well, get underneath and have a look :) Other possibilities are: 1. It was never there 2. It was there originally but someone took it off and left it off (most likely when you got your locker) 3. They did not seal around the diff centre properly when they put in the locker and put the centre back ...

GQ Power Loss

Hi Guys, Got a tb42 GQ patrol, with an electronic dizzy. Now, at times in rough terrain, or intermittently going uphill the revs fall and rise at random. The motor surges and there is a loss of power. It starts out with the tacho twitching and ends with a loss of power. Would appreciate some help ...
