Re: 1999 Rodeo Help
I had a 99 dual cab V6 petrol. Worst car on fuel I've ever owned. Scratching to get 300ks from a 60 litre tank! .........and we were in a remote part of WA at the time, paying 1.90 a litre....... I looked into the TD conversion (this is quite a few years ago) and discovered it CAN be done, but not ...

Swap a GU 4.2 Turbo for a Great Wall
I'm a bit disappointed with my GU Patrol.
The 4.2 motor is very out dated, even though it has a turbo.
Anyone want to swap for a Great Wall?

Mate, I don't want to be an arse here but do yourself a favour and buy something else. They were a nugget when they were new and have not gotten better with age. I have had 120Ys that have been more capable 4wds than them. Seriously, put your money into something better. X2. Total piles of shit.

Thanks.
Always wondered.
So if you were going to get a TD42 for a rebuild, you'd go a black top?

I saw one of these kitted out on the Nullarbor last week. Vic plates, had a sticker on the back of the framework on the tray saying something about metal fabrications some where in Gippsland. It also had a map of Aust on the side, looked like they'd recently set it up and were one the first leg of a ...

I'm in a similar mind set right now, too. I'm going to offload my GU tourer, (that probably wont tour anywhere for quite a while) and buy a cheap basher, use the left over $25k for other purposes. I don't think I could own a Zook though. I like the idea of an old MQ with a V8. A thread in Chit Chat ...

Sell it and buy a wagon - would love to but its a work ute and the commercial rating is a godsend tax wise, and a wagon is less useful for work - though i could survive. wagons cost a bomb and 4.2's don't seem to exist! ... Seen some outright dangerous failures (mounting "ring" seperating from shock body) with EFS.
So far so good.
