Its an older system similar to an impco set-up. it has suddenly started running roughly...in the morning when its cold I can complete the 25min drive to work no worries.... on the way home as soon as the motor gets warm(bout 10-15mins) the motor starts ...

I have the origional 40series pwr steer on mine but its on a 351 cleveland... does it have to be origional?? you just need to run the hoses down onto the chassis out of the way...I just cable tied mine in and its been there for 4 years without a prob.. hope that helps...if not just ignore all of the ...

your daughter will want a decent set of arms on her if it hasn't got power steering.....

not too bad once your going, but at slow speeds you certainly know your steering an old truck :)

unless you keep a set of skinnies on it.....or you could always do a conversion.

It was the fact that you have a weak point where the old holes were....they said there was a chance of the springs cracking there....I know lots of people do this mod but if a couple of spring shops tell me its suss thats good enough for me... also have to be careful over in WA as the cops are tuff ...

thanks for the info....didnt think it would go, but I wonder with the body lift and having the tank right back if it will go... yeah I know about the other probs you mentioned.... hey guys, just wondering if anyones done the above swap with a gas tank under the rear?? looks like it would be a tight fit on mine...I realise that the shocks would need to be moved to the front. I will also be doing a 2" body lift. really chasing an answer from someone who is running this setup ...

you can just get yourself a first stage regulator to fit the scuba tank. you would be able to pick one up cheep out of the trading post. It should come with a hose, but they all have a few ports on them for different stuff(ie dive reg/guages). I use this set up with a hose and a tyre connector ...

I have had a shorty for quite some time....They are great for all the above reasons.....BUT....If you want to go camping of the beaten track for more than a weekend then they are tight for space..... Mainly for fuel and water....But if you will be near towns it isn't so bad as you can go re-fuel etc ...

unfortunately I only have the ducting from my origional heater, but I did see another set-up from the states, and they just had silver foil ducting so it didn't take up so much space....

photos of inside the cab would be great... I have a 351clevo, so will be using a ford pump. Just unsure of the cowlings/plumbing that I may need to pick up to still be able to use my heater...

I've just picked up an aircon unit(supposed to be factory) and it goes in place of the cowl that goes from fan to heater... how do you get the heater to work??? is it supposed to work off the aircon unit?? or is it a throw away?? looking at the aircon unit it seems that the 2 side fans ...

Mine has a drop down tailgate which is good to use as a bench/seat, but it's also a pain when your loading/gettin stuff out of the back, as it's a long stretch. When I rebuild mine it's gettin a swing out...for sure...but you can use chain as a stopper, with plastic tube over it to stop rattles ...
