4.88 ratios arent they in the MQ/MK range ??? 4.88 are a standard fitment in the utes But only for the H260 style diff I m not sure about that but the Spirit came out with the H230 31 spline front and HD 233b 33 spline rear ,in either a 4.6 or 4.8 option .Have gone with 4.6 now should of done it ...

There a Safari/Patrol that came out with a 2.8 mtr,the turbo model has 4.6 diffs and non turbo 4.8 diffs,reas common over here in NZ ,Body wise the same as normal Safari/Patrol smaller running gear apart from the diffs .Cheers

Nissan 4.8 diff gears

Has anyone on here tried running the 4.8 diff gears out of a Spirit on a GQ TD42 ,I have a winch challenge truck over here in NZ that gets a hard life .Cust turbo ,intercooled,etc .just looking for feed back on any known problems .Cheers Steve

Hi Mate prob a stupid question ,do you know anyone in the freight buisness, Over here in NZ i know of 3 wreeckers who have motors coming out their ears ,you can pick up a complete good motor minus alt/starter motor for around the nz800--1000 dollar mark

Had the same problem ,in the end it turned out to be the the control box which controls all the power to dash ,its located above the left rear wheel arch ,remove the inner panel to get at it ,its held in with 3 bolts and has 2 plugs with heaps of wires .Cheers

Hi Mate ,Have had the same problem before ,I held a nut over the hole where the snapped of stud was and filled it up with weld useing a mig ,took 2 goes but came out in the end .the heat from welding seemed to help loosen it ..Cheers

On a GQ there is a oil feed from memory in between the passengers engine mount i think its about an 6 or 8mm hex key thats the best one to feed a turbo its a feed direct from a oil gallery ..Cheers

Yep i Know what your saying ,I have not had a problem before with the auto/manual hubs as long as i manual lock them ,I would like to continue to use them as i find they are stronger than superwinch and avm but still act as a fuse and only take a couple of minutes to change..Cheers

Have you checked the oil return hose from the vacum pump on the rear of the Alt as they have a habit of getting brittle and cracking ..Cheers
