at start up after sitting around for a while the oil has leeched past the valve stem seal and is sitting on the back of the valve head , so at start up it blows smoke and then
when at running and shutting the throttle off after a good run there is a greater vacuum in the bores which sucks ...

get the lever in from the back,
hooked to the front of the rim,
with the tyre/wheel standing up.
With the tyre lever at the highest point,
flip it right over the tread and it will start peeling.
proceed to hit the rest of with the mallet.... or grinder ...

But get the tyre on the ground lift the rim up and get a tyre lever in behind one side and try and stand the rim up in the tyre then pull like ...

Yep this is the case, most of the time they will not dissengage untill either you back off or the load comes off it.

This has been my experience too.

Yea me too, they won't disengage until unloaded, just don't engage them when wheels are spinning!! as was posted above.

The clutch is the same one you change gears with if you wan't a better set up buy an electric winch. I have a pto winch on a shorty and have been advised by a toyota mechanic to get rid of it because they are very easy to overload the transfer case and blow the case to pieces i have a 12.000 lb ...

and the other one i cant remember the name of it ,

but you hook one end of it in the centre of the rim and the then you hook the swinging long bolt or hook whatever ...

I have the opposite problem, whic apparently is rampant in Jimnys. The retractor has died in the arse, when I undo my seat belt and flick it back, the retractor isn't strong enough to pull it back in.
So it hangs out my door and the metal tongue gets slammed in it (leaving a dint) when i get out ...
