Thanks guys

I'm pretty sure the whole centre is farked - I was wondering whether the axles may have been routed due to excessive heat or something, or maybe the wheel bearing shat themselves.

Basically I just want to be able to replace the whole centre and be done with it.

Cheers,

Seized diff - causing other problems?

So the diff locked up the other day, completely, wheels won't turn at all.

Am I likely to have problems other than the diff? I.E would the axles or bearings be a problem?

Thanks

Sweet, thanks guys.

It's not the battery terminals, I'm not lucky enough to have a problem that is so easy to fix

I'll try moving random wires around in the engine bay to see if I can find it.

Hilux diff housing studs

Hi guys,

Anyone able to tell me what diameter/pitch/length the studs in the hilux diff housing are?

I stripped a couple

Yeah, I could go outside and look, but I'm scared of the dark.

Would Supercheap or Repco have em?

How to trace a loose connection?

Hi guys, I think my lux has a loose connection somewhere: On some bumps, all the lights flicker, and the stereo turns off (and then turns itself back on again) I haven't blown a fuse ever, so that would seem to rule out a short. Any ideas on where to start? I've had a quick look around and it's ...

I'm quite possibly blind.... but I couldn't see what I was looking for in there.

Just to clarify:
I'm not looking to have it engineered (even 33's are a no go :( )
All I want is a RWC so that I can sell it. I'm just not sure if the mechs who do RWCs check for modifications at all.

RWC cert in QLD

Hi guys,
Unfortunately the time has come to sell the Fuklux.

So, can anyone tell me if things like:
33's
big offset rims
diff forward 30 mm
lack of front mudflaps
flared wheel arches

are going to be a problem for a RWC?

Any recomendations for who to see about a RWC ;)

thanks guys,

welded steering components are bad, mmmmkay? I run 33's with stock springs and no rubbing, diff 30 mm forward... Draglink was modded at an engineering shop, they cut and threaded it, and threaded some high grade steel to suit and fitted lock nuts... it's all good. (touch wood/head) for a 4 inch lift ...

I kinda thought you could fit 33's on this model lux just by hammering the shit out of the rear part of the inner guards.

I believe the 2LT has a stronger bottom end that makes it more suitable for forced induction.

Hopefully someone else can chime in with details.

AKAIK all solid axle lux centres are interchangeable, howevere the drive shaft flange pattern may vary. Easy enough to get the right flange for your application though.

the dude who cut and flipped my rims just welded the holes.... one of the welds didn't penetrate enough (I guess) and leaked a bit. I stuck some slime in there a few months ago and it hasn't leaked yet ;)

Pull the s/m

Remove the cover on the front (vehicle front, alright, closest radiator) of the solonoid

Remove the solonoid contacts and clean them with a file or replace if they're really bad. ~ $12 or so.

1. Routed started motor 2. Overheating in diesel Hilux

hi guys Question 1. My starter motor finally packed it in today. It spins heaps quick but doesn't engage the flywheel. Is it likely that I can pull it down, grease it up and get it working? Anything in particular to check for? Question 2. And, the POS is overheating on the highway. Only when doin ...

I was told that it is better to extend the shaft properly, as using a spacer increases the angle at the uni joint, which would be bad when flexed out.

Can't be that hard to make a whole front end, bonnet + guards, yourself if you're really keen.

I've sorta been thinking about it, but need to fix some other shyte first.
