Thanks everyone for your help
I finally jiggled the outer brake assembly off, and now have the collar in the centre soaking overnight to see if it will budge tonight. Jeez - she's pretty corroded in there :(
Once that comes off I think it'll be easier to see what's what.

The Steel plate that holds the drum in is the only thing that retains the shaft in place, this runs through a bronze bush and seal on the brake side. The drum side runs in a bearing.
Any problems let me know.
Lockee - I can see what you mean - i.e. the plate that held the drum in place has a ...

Thanks Fish
I've just had a look to see if that bush was obvious - but I can't see one anywhere. Does it protrude through the casing to the outside at all? Is it on the drum side or the clutch side?
Cheers

Hi all
I've decided to completely strip my Warn 8274 hi-mount. There are articles I've found out there with useful tips, but the authors don't respond when I try and ask a question of them. Primarily the bloke who wrote the article at: http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/8274/
So, I've got it ...

Hey there all
After picking up our '00 110 TD5 a couple of weeks ago, the clutch was found to be really stiff, and I was hoping that it might free up after doing some long miles. The vehicle had been garaged for months at the time I bought it. Well... after some pretty big miles over the past two ...

Cheers Harvey - thanks mate :)
We've only just begun on the white one. We bought it with the turbo fitted, but that was pretty well the only mod.
We've put 2" of body lift under her (no spring lift yet - but will go only 2" when I do), Safari snorkel, a Piranha dual battery system and custom tray ...

I used the ash tray spot for my GPS - so I mounted the head unit under the LHS dash. It's out of the way there. Even though the main unit is mounted unde it - it's temporary as it'll be moved to the centre console soon.

I've only ever pumped the primer pump after swapping the fuel filter and replacing the hoses because they were cracked once so far - as it's a new vehicle to me.
I do remember feeling the primer pump getting harder to pump after a half dozen strokes or so - I gather as it was meeting resistance ...

Chrispy, can I ask how you went with this?
I have exactly the same noise in my TD42 GQ Patrol. It's kind of like a continual 'ticking' noise, which is relative to revs, but gets a lot louder when I back off the throttle. Apparently the pump and injectors have been 'done', but I'm not sure at how ...

Sorry to BUT in but is this normal ks for a diesel, 660 and 700ks out of a TD42 atmo or turbo. Sounds like allot for 80 to 85 litres unless they are running it dry :?:
Turbo.
I'm getting around 10.5L/100km. 700 kays is only 66 litres - so I'm not running it dry.
I do, however, keep a ...

Having my injectors done today. All six are relatively stuffed, and four were so coked up that they very nearly didn't want to come out. I'm going to pick it up this arvo so I'm dying to see what difference a new set of nozzles and the pump set up for the turbo (finally) makes.....

Yeah - I've seen them there too, but I think his point is that he wants to make a "custom" one - it was just a question of how to mount it.
He could buy mine if he really wants - I use a remote-head UHF these days anyway.

Just bunched it up and wrapped it in that 8mm slit-sleeve insulation. Just poked it out the back and then the wiring bundle drops into the gap between the windscreen rubber and dash. The rear edge of the dashpod os over this trench, so you don't even see the wiring protrude. I ran mine to the left ...
