Can anybody with factory r/d lock (4.9), confirm the following:
1)Factory Sticker on the rear of the diff housing "G R C 4.900"
2)Right Axle No. " 58 "
3)Left Axle No. " 57 "
4)Behind the wire switch (on the center diff.) there is a number," 16 "
5)Under the pinion (on the center diff) there ...

So Carl, if I understood right , U r going 2 run 4.90 rear &
4.875 front (with no problems).
Is this possible???
Can't U put the front 4.9 R+P from u r rig in the lj78's diff center???

Hi Zitoun,no I haven't done anything to the box(its the standard).
A new, low range reduction gears is under development in oz and will be soon finished.... 3.15:1 (standard is 1.90:1) which is 66% reduction over standard.Am I right Frank?

I can speak 4 the MTR's.A month ago I borrowed a set of these (32x11.5 on 10''rims) from a mate & I've used them 4 a week on & offroad.On the road they r very noisy at any speed over 80km/h (on 170km/h I let go of the steering wheel to hold the dushboard).There is NO rim-guard.I'VE GOT A PAJERO ...

Looking 4 new shoes...thinking of bfgs m/t ,P/C X-terrains or wrangler mtrs(32x11.5).
Current ones.. bfgs a/t (31x10.5) on "compomotives dwf 8.5j x15" rims.
I'd LIKED 33X12.5 , but with 4.636dfs & 30.5mm axl.diam. locked am in a dilemma.*ps*NL shorty 28tdi.Any thoughts/suggestions...

I think (not sure) there r 2 (two) numbers on the outside of each axle. These must be like an id of the axle that confirms its size (diam-length e.t.c).
I don't know if these can help...

I had my 2" bl's body blocks (polytherine) done today, but by mistake(my mistake...f$$k) they 've 50mm diamtr. instead of 65mm.Can I use them (without having any problems)or I must get the right ones???

According 2 your informations Frank the NL 4m40tdi 's diffs are 4.90.
OURS V26 4m40 tdi's are 4.636 original, (Just to let you know).
