I just bought MTR's from Beaurepaires, $180 each in 31's. Seemed like a good price for a good tyre.

My 1990 LN106 has air con and power steering. I'm pretty sure the 1989 ones don't.

Same here, ran out with supposedly 1/4 tank left. Lucky to have a jerry on the back and a bottle of injector cleaner, I was in the middle of nowhere.

So got it "fixed"... apparently an electrical short...but same problem returned immediately.

Took it back again and afterwards it would get to 1 ...

Cheers guys, I'll get onto a local brake joint and get them to do it, it certainly make sense to leave such important safety issues in the hands of the pros. Insurance would laugh at me with homemade/installed brake components..

DIY extended brakelines vs Snake etc on Hilux LN106

Has anyone made up their own extended front brake lines (for a Hilux LN106) from Pirtek / Enzed stuff? or have you sprung for the :
1)Superior Engineering $88 each, any length; or
2)Snake $120 pair, 100mm longer
or another idea I haven't thought of.

At the moment my brake lines are like the ...

The cab is nice and cool, espesh with a/c on, why not feed the engine with it? I thought it would be noisy and thats why noone does it, but the snorkel intake doesn't seem that ...

Thanks for your advice.
No worries, glad it worked. Mine is still hanging in there, though lots of corrosion too. When I first had a look in there it looked like the rubber boots had perished years ago and let in allsorts of nasties. New boots on now but one day I think a transfer case overhaul ...

Yay finally I can offer someone else some help on OL!!

This happened to me last weekend but I was stuck in H2 (much more useful than neutral but still stopped me going 4bying)

So you take out the centre console to get the boots off the gear shifters (knobs off). Then lift up the final boot on ...

I'm thinking of moving my front axle forward (maybe 30mm?) to fit bigger tyres and no rubbing and one of the things that looks like its gotta change length also is the diff locator. Are adjustable ones available or is it a case of welding one up at the right length?

Because there would be no heat exchange if the air going through the cooler is the same temp as the ambient air outside.

Does an intercooler (with turbo) lower the intake air temp to lower than outside air temp? Or is it just lower than the (non intercooled) turbo-heated air?

My diesel loves ...

I extended the gearbox breather on my LN106 using bits from Enzed for $11, also had to replace the shifter boots as they had completely perished (I can email pics). No body lift, it was a bit fiddly but do-able.

I was wondering how I was getting all that water and mud in my transfercase - it was ...
