Lift kit for IFS 100 series

I just bought a IFS 100 series for touring to replace my 80 that after 12 years of hard going has just had enough.
I am after advice on lift kits. I am after a modest lift. 2" or so. It will have both a steel front and rear bar,winch, etc.

Something to try.Check you havnt got a dirty big vacuum leak.Look at the vacuum hoses running off No1 on the manifold first.Using some plyers clamp them shut one by one.Then try spraying some carby cleaner around the manifold gasket and carby base gaskets and see if it flares up.How did spark plug ...

dizzy is 180 degrees out


Thats interesting you say that as the old dizzy cap was 180 deg out so the notch on the front of the cap was not engaging in the lug so the cap could be moved . I installed the new cap so the locator sat in place and the cylinder numbers on the cap worked. Is there a ...

I am mucking around with a 18R in my daughters camper van. It is running on 3 cylinders at the moment. I have replaced the spark plugs, leads, dissy cap, rotor, adjusted the tappets and done a compression test on the motor.
No 1 . 130lb
No 2 . 130lb
No 3 . 110lb
NO 4 . 90LB

3rd battery in 80 series

Has anyone stuck a 3rd batt. in a 80 wagon. I am setting up to do a fue months in the bush and i will have 2 engels. One as a freezer. Both are 40l fridges. Has anyone done this? Any ideas would be great

Battery charger

I just put my battery charger on a flat battery and it is putting out 15.8 volts. Is that ok? It seems very high.
The battery was still winding over the engine but not quick enough to start it so its not dead flat. All the cells are bubbling , so there does not appear to be a dead sell.

Yes that is the idle mixture screw. My 88 carby dual fuel GQ runs fine on petrol. When I 1st got the car the carbys petrol pump was full of shit. The easiest fix was a 2nd hand carby fron the wreakers that had not been on gas and pull the petrol tank out and clean all the rust out of it. Keep the ...

I am no expert but try taking the idle mixture screw out and blowing air into the carby through the hole.Befoer removing the screw wind it all the way in and count the turns. Should be about 2 1/2 turns. This will give you a starting point when you replace it. Then start the engine on petrol and ...
