Well i am in no way going to buy a 200k+ car for that much cash - i will wait and keep my eye out with people like Eric (who said it could be possible) and watch the papers, and will start having a look at a few alternatives, i guess, like a Rangie - but then again NOT that keen on petrol.. :( fug

Thanks i have seen that. i dont have 33k at all. I got like 26 MAYBE 28k - and i bought a refrig van this week so i gotta get rid of something before i buy a another 4x4 - so now i got spacia and a pajero for sale.

If i cant get a good patrol for that money i will start looking for something else ...

On Staright petrol what fuel economy do most expect from the 4.5lt. 15/17l per 100, or is this dreaming, will it be more like 20l per 100?

I found a thread that says 3l is fine after 10/01 ?

I found a 4.2 ST Wagon in White today for 19999 ata car yard...but 320k (1 owners full service history owned a buy a country telco) is still too many KMs for me. Be IMPOSSIBLE to resell.

Umm arent you meant o soak these in oil or gear oil before you put em in? Mauybe the noisy one is the new one you put it which is now stuffed? I could be wrong, i aint done a set in 12 years :)

Nah i dont - i spent last night searching through plenty of nissan forums and i think i have a better chance of buying an Opel Sunbird Torana than a 3l Patrol.

Yeah the paj tows it. It will easily be towed by any patrol - i am more interested in how much different in power between the 2 diesels vs fuel economy - eg does the 3l only seem tio be a tiny bit less powerful but a heaps more economical?
