Outer Limits 4x4 Board

I have had the ...285X75 M.T.R.s on now for about 6 months.....on GU patrol rims.....In that time they have never rubbed at all.
This includes an outing of steep rock escarpments,..both up and down,...that had a GU..GQ..and an 80series needing assistance.

They havent rubed the inner guardes or ...

I have a NJ 2.8 GLX. with GU nissan rims and 285x75 MTR,s They fit perfectly and stay within the flares....and no rubing anywear....
The rims cost $50 each at the 4x4 wreckers.

That was the first time I had experienced this in 4H and took a while to realise that the centre diff was open not locked.

Thanks Greggo for the input but I dont have freewheeling hubs , not yet but they will be on very soon......I just cant see how drive can get to the front wheels and not the back ones... ...It seems impossible but that is what is happining

I have just had my front ARB diff-lock [rd110] installed and it is fantastic......but I have one small problem.
When I select 4H only my front wheels drive and not the back. To double check this I jacked up one front wheel only...selected 4H and the raised front wheel began spining with no drive to ...

Dosnt the NP3.8 come with MATT .......( traction control ) .

If so I wouldnt change a thing because it supose to be very good.

If your not in any hurry then shop around because it can save you heaps....I was quoted for the new coopers stt 265x75 $297 each and $95 each for 16x7 rims and had to wate about 4 weeks for the tyres to arive.

I rang around and picked up the GU nissan rims for $50 each and the 285x75 BFG MTRs ...

Hi....I have just got some 285.x.75. BFG MTR,s..( 33 x 11.5) on G.U. NISSAN rims ....they fit perfect and dont hit anywere...plenty of room.

My paj is .GLX with tjm flares and the tyres dont protrude at all. My tortion bars have been raised about 3cm from standed to compensate for a winch and ...

There seems to be a bit of confusion between ,..and the ability of both......ground clearance and articulation...

All things equal....A 4 inch suspention lift will give an .IFS vehicle 4 inches more ground clearance at the front.....It willgive a live axle vehicle absolutly no more ground ...

With all these IFS kick ass stories about.........no wonder there is a few live axel RAW NERVES about..... ....

Just saying HORSES FOR CORSES...never seen a Rolse Roice or Bentle in a smash up darby either ...Out back challenge and the like can only be run on the back of after market gear ...NO arb diff lock..winches...oversized motors and tyres NO out back challenge ..... Lets not fool our selves here... All ...

I drive a 2.8itd deisel.NJ. My vehicle will give me ( on my last test )...8.92..klm. per litre .Not shaw what this is in litres per 100/klms....but on a good run i have got over 800/klms from a 90litre tank..(..with the red light flashing..)

The only mod,s i have to affect fuel consumption ...

There is nothing like a good robust debate to get different idears and viewpoints through to others....and it also makes for a healthy forum.

One thing i would like to ask about is how much can you use the ARB110.. BEFORE there is the possibilety off brakage.....and just how strong is the ...

That traction control setup does appear to be the ULTIMATE ..4X4.system especally for weekend and club outings and for 99% of 4x4 drivers...

Unfortunatly it isnt on the market at the moment and although they say it will be soon,.... that could be another 2years. I ripped a CV.boot on the Oct ...

I got a second quote in another town 135kls up the hiway . I told him I had another quote from some one else dut I didnt say how much, and his price was

The super select function is one thing I didnt want to loose but I THOUGHT maybe with an auto locker I could ( in certain situations), with manual hubs,...just lock one hub to ...
