Gday. I have a 1996 GLX 2.8 TDi. Mine does not have ABS, but does have a rear LSD. Have you had a look at the Tech Info in this forum? Another good site for info is the VIC Mitsubishi Club website. It is http://www.pajeroclub.com.au/forum/PajeroForum.htm

Thanks Scott. I am guessing that the 265's will not fit on the stock 6 inch rim. Do you know what rims I will need to get, as I have heard that the NJ's have a rare offset.

NJ GLS Tyre Placard

Does anyone know off hand what size tyres are listed on the Tyre Placard of a GLS NJ pajero? Also, what size tyres did the GLS come out with. I just bought a stock NJ GLX, and to my disgust, it does not list a range of tyres sizes, but only lists the one tyre (235x75x15) on a 6 inch rim. I was ...

NJ - Things to look for

Well the family is growing, and the time has come to trade in the little sierra. It has served me well, but there aint room for both the recovery gear and the car seat. Anyway, I am starting to look for a bigger 4WD and was interested in a 1995 NJ Turbo Diesel. I was wondeing if anyone could tell me ...

It is definetely 50mm. As I have used the socket before, and that is what is states in my manual. It is for a 86 NT, so not sure if the WT is different. I have just finished looking at ABW catalouge, and smallest they make is 53mm.

Wheel bearing nut removal tool

Does anyone know where I can purchase a wheel bearing nut removal tool (50mm) in Brisbane? I have a 50mm socket, but there is not enough depth in the socket and it hits the axle shaft before reaching recommended torque. If you know the price, that would be appreciated as well. Thanks

kingpin adjustments - what the?

I have just finished cleaning a heap of oil/grease combo off my brake parts, due to the a leaking axle oil seal. A heap of oil had leaked into my cv, which then proceeded to spread thoughout my wheel bearings and then out through the hub casing and all over the brake pads, rotor, and calipers. It ...

If you only wanting a stage 1, have you considered building your own rock lobster transfer case? It may work out cheaper for you then a S1 rock hopper, just depends on how much you can pick up a 1 ltr transfer case for. I have heard that they are pretty much the same ratio as a S1 rockhopper. I don ...

1 ltr T/C in 1.3 NT

Gday. What a great source of info this place is. I wish I knew about it a while ago. Would certainly saved some headaches. I wanted to know a little about changing TC's. I know there are a few threads on this, but I could only find threads on WT's. Just wondering if there is much difference in ...

I have 225 x 75 x 15 Cooper ST's on my 86 NT. I done a few trips with them to Fraser and found them great on the sand. Getting the momentum is easy, keeping it is a different storey. I have the standard 1.3 Transfer Case, and have only recall once that the gearing was a problem, and that was on a ...

The old kingpin bearing preload. It gets you every time! I loosen off the kingpin bolts a little and the steering is back to being a little easier. Thanks everyone for your help! Little red is back in action and awaits the next adventure (and post adventure fix up). :D

I have noticed since putting everything back together that it is a lot harder to turn the steering wheel. I put the same kingpin shims back in the same place that I took them off. Does this sound like a kingpin preload problem? Any other ideas?
Thanks again

-Bearing Kit (2 bearings plus seal) - $65 per wheel. -Hub seal kit (axle oil seal, felt, knuckle seal) - $48 per wheel. I just repacked the king pin bearings, as they were ok. Also, a hint for fitting the knuckle seal. If you leave it in the sun for a couple of hours, you can stretch it over the ...

While repacking the cv's, I noticed that one of them had what looked like burn marks around the outside of each of the ball bearings(on the outer cup). Any idea's. This was the side that had the leaking ...

I run 28's (28.3 to be exact) (225x75x15) on a stock 86 narrowtrack, and they do rub on the inner gards. (ie no full lock) When I got them, we worked out that they were about 3 mm (in height) over the allowable 'standard' limit .... so you should get away with 28's.

Hub overhall

I was going to give the front hubs of my 86 narrow track a overhaul, and was wondering if there are any nasty surprises that I should be looking for, as I have not done this before. My steering knuckles are leaking grease, my cv's are noisy at full lock, and one of my wheels is a bit wobbly (wobbles ...
