I've had them on my D3 for around 30 000 km. I had the Cooper STTs before, and these are much quieter on road, yet better traction off-road. They are wearing fairly quick, but then the D3 is a heavy vehicle and I've been fairly rough on them, I think you'll be pleased with them!

With my TDI D1 on 33" XTerrains, I managed to break 2 diffs and an axle, admittedly going pretty hard. I then switched to 35" Silverstones, ARB lockers/carriers and 10 spline Maxi axles. With this set-up the only thing I ever broke was a CV, so I swapped them out for County CVs. That setup seemed ...

I've pulled mine out a couple of times. It's physically a bit biggerr than the older ARB compressor, not quite as big as a MaxAir. I think it's specc'd at around 250psi working pressure, max 330 or so, but I don't know what the flow rate is like. One problem would be that the compressor is ...

Are you considering this as additional plumbing into the existing comp on a D3 (bad idea!), or using a comp from a D3 to run lockers/tank on another vehicle?

I've had both the Cooper STTs and the Mickey Thompson MTZs on my Disco 3, so I can give you a direct comparison. Firstly on-road, despite the seeming similarity in treads, the MTZs are _much_ quieter, and seem to pull up better in the wet - the STTs triggered the ABS a couple of times, whereas in ...

Being a night event, precious few I'd imagine  I've got some of the group prior to the comp starting, but hopefully there were a few taken during the event that people will post up - there must be, 'cause I remember being blinded by a couple of flashes during the first few special stages ...

I thought they were both around $300? I know the Sunrise one covers you for 3 events, but IIRC the navrun is a catered event and the cost covers two teams.
So they're pretty much even ... unless the navrun guys have changed their pricing?

DeWse, Duncan, As for something in return for help, Gordon after the first busy bee the helpers were asked back to test the tracks over a weekend, so yes their is something for your hard work. Thats great, and exactly what I'm talking about. But if that 'sweetener' had been public information ...

The "giving back" was simply a suggestion if it was ascertained that Alan was considering cancelling the comps due to lack of help. I personally doubt that this would be the case (more likely a perceived lack of competitors). But it is possible that more help could be gained (if required) by ...

If there's not enought help being offered, I would've suggested something like a "friends of Sunrise" certificate, that could be handed out to people who volunteer help at the park, entitling them to either drive the course a few times, or reduced entry fees to the comps or something similar. If it ...

Ensuring this event doesn't clash with any others would be an important goal for the organisers to accomplish. Does anyone have a calender of other events occuring this year? There's the following that I vaguely recall: Sunrise Park - June 24/25, Aug 5/6, Oct 21/22 Jeep muster - June 3/4/5 ...

People seem to be misinterpreting my previous comments. I don't want rules so that I can plan some cunning victory. I don't care who wins. I'm concerned that without rules being available signifcantly _before_ the event, some people may find themselves in situations way above their or their vehicles ...

Bulldogy, And you're lucky to have a vehicle that you can just "have a go in" and not care about the cost/carnage. Some of us however, use our one and only 4WD as a daily driver. We want to know what to expect. We want to know how the event is being scored and what the rules are. Why is that so hard ...

Dewse, I'm not talking about "trying to win" either. Just enjoying the competition and being reasonably competitive. Look, a simple example .... If I have a choice of 3 sets of tyres: old 2nd-hand 31" , 33" ATs or new 33" extreme MTs. What do I use? If I knew whether actually being able to drive ...

Duncan, Hey guys if you dont want to compete dont ,dose it realy make any difference if you no the rules now or later isnt it about getting out and driving against other people and having fun? The trouble is, that without knowing the rules and how an event is going to be scored, you can't make a ...

Kris,
Talk to Kevin at Rovertech (9350 5633) and tell him I gave you his number - he has stacks of mods for these cars and he may even have an owner or two selling a good used vehicle
Cheers,
Gordon
