i had the same prob. it turned out to be a worn selector fork easy fix just weld up the worn section ,has been fine for 2 years so was a cheep fix for me and worked hope this helps?

it all to do with air flow i run a 351 windsor with 40 over bore and found that 3core and el fans work well as fords dont like being bored over 30 as this makes them thin in the bores and run hot but this combo works even on a 40 degree day off road ,and all like i said air flow on gq,s no d,lights ...

change you front diff pinnion angle by putting in castor plates this will move front shaft away from starter,what sump are you using i am using a sump for a cortina ,in adition whith bump stop spacer on r/h side this works well hope this helps,ive found putting a clevo in a gq very tight fit but ...

pre 91 model do not have ancorage points fitted i have one my self and are a restraint fitter you will have to fit a crab bar child restraint ancorage bar.

all ya need to do is adjust tuning pod in speedo head itself ,remove outer cover of dash cluster and drill small hole inline of adjustor and adjust to suit,best way of getting it accurate is gps

i have done this conversion in swb 351 ford very easy if you have petrol
gearbox as it is longer in the input shaft use ford 11 inch clutch and get the
conversion kit from dellowautomotive in sydney come with engine mounts
