lux problems

I just had my injector pump reconditioned on my 2.8 hilux.
I re fitted it my self and now the lux is hard to start, and lacks a bit of power. All the timing marks were lined up when I re fitted it.

Could it be a tooth out?

Thanks in advance.

lokka adjustment

I'm in the process of fitting a front lokka to my ln106 hilux. My question is how do you adjust the clearances, the clearance for the cross shaft is 1/2 a thou out on the bottom end of the tolerance scale. The inter cam clearance is 10 thou out on the bottom end as well. The instructions are quite ...

An easy way to get the old seal out, without the risk of marking the crank with a screw driver. Is to get a small self tapping screw and screw it into the old seal, then grab onto it with a pair of pliers and pull out the seal.

It is sometimes easier to support the transmission and the undo the cross member. Then put the bolts in the rubber mount and replace the cross member.

Coolant leak???

I've got a few drops of coolant appearing right in the joint between the bell housing and block (fly wheel area). I have checked all the hoses etc and its a new radiator. I have also checked the welch plugs and coolant drain on the intake side. There is no other coolant evident any where but by the ...

Advice on radiator

I am in the process of turboing my old ln106 lux. I'm also replacing most parts in the cooling system, thermostat, pipes, water pump etc. My radiator is leaking just under the header tank and I've had some advice to get it re cored with an extra core (four instead of three). I have looked and found ...

They do hold their price quite well if they are tidy. I bought mine last year , single cab, no mods, very straight with only 148,000 km on it for $10,500. There are alot of rust buckets around, check under the front kick panels on both sides, as my old one had a bit of rust under there. Also check ...

Fair locker price????

I got quoted $2100 for an ARB airlocker and compressor (fitted), for my lux.
Just wondering what guys in the southern states are paying so I can determine if any "Darwin" tax has been added.

lux diff ratios

Is a 4.875 diff for a lux the same as a 4.88? As I have heard people refer to them as just 4.8. I didnt think there were that many different ratios in luxes.

The drums are near new,I have only had the ute for a few weeks, it had new brakes fitted so I thought they were just wearing in.
The backing plate is not hitting the drum.
It will do it in reverse sometimes.
Might just bung new shoes in it see if it helps.

hilux brakes

The rear drum brakes in the back of my 2wd hilux squeel real bad when braking.
The shoes have plenty of meat left and the drums are in good condition.

What could cause this problem, I was thinking that the shoes have been cooked? as they seem real brittle.
Thanks in advance for your help.
