Thor winch

I'm almost 100% sure that the Thor is a T-Max, Ox, Brawn, all rebadged. If you get the chance to see them side by side they appear the same and have the same specs. 4x4 Aust had a comparro in Sep 2004 in which they state that the T-Max, Ox and brawn are the same, all made in China. So which ever of ...

Silverstone A/T

I came across a set of Silverstone A/T tyres recently that had an almost identical tread pattern to a BFG. The proprietor said that customers were getting 80,000 K's out of them. Anyone had any experience with either the tyre or the brand I'd be interested to know as they were $50 less each than a ...

TB42 revs

Guy's and perhaps girls? I have a carbureted TB42 Mav which really hangs on to the revs between gears or when is pumped up to say 2,500 in neutral. This happens on petrol and gas. Any ideas.

Exactly the same thing has recently just happened to my 89 Mav. l regularly checked the water bottle and it was fine, then one day the temp guage went right up and I put about 5 litres of water in i at a service station. I replaced the radiator cap thinking it just wasn't recovering fluid from the ...

MK/MQ?

Coxy, It's funny you should say that about the MK because it's something that has always puzzled me. I was working in a Nissan dealership spareparts department in the late 80's and I kept reading about MK patrol's in 4X4 Aust but couldn't find reference to them in Nissan's material. I assume it was ...

Premier

There is an article back on page one in relation to Premier winches. They actually advertise that the motor runs in roller bearings. I'd be amazed with Warns reputation if they didn't. I must say that I looked hard on my Premier when I bought it to see where it was made and couldn't find anything ...

Chis's 4X4 is right.

I have just bought a Premier winch on the result of that article (although I haven't got to read it, only word of mouth). When I was researching winches it appeared from their specs and appearance that the OX, Thor, Brawn and T-MAX were all the same winch. I was talked out of a MAGNUM by ARB because ...

I haven't read all the replies you have been given but I shoe horned a toyota dyna gearbox into a landrover behind a valiant hemi. TB42 engine noise

I have an 89 TB42 Maverick. When it is facing downhill there is a sound that comes from the right side of the engine that I can only describe as a intermitant light metal or lapping sound. I think it has something to do with the oil pump pick up as it is only when the car is facing downhill, not ...
