I am looking at buying an 88 GQ LWB 4.2 D. It seams to be fitted with a factory locker on the rear. It has switch on centre of dash and light in the top left hand side of gauge cluster. Why not fit a remote oil filter. You can get an adaptor plate for that screws on where the factory oil filter goes, then fit oil filter in engine bay where it is easily changed. I have done this to a few of my cars and have had no problems. Fixes the problem for the life of the car.

Standard ride hight (MQ)

Can any one tell me what the standard ride hight of a 1981 MQ short wheel base is? I am looking at getting new springs but no one can tell me the hight it will be. I would like the distance from the centre of the axles to the bottom of the wheel arch. If any one could help please. :?:

You can either cut the floor or bend the shifter. But what ever one you do you must allow for the movement between the floor and the gear box. I cut the floor in mine and the first time I hit a bump it would push it out of gear. I hope this helps !!

Comming from a Drag racing background I would fit an external oil filter addaptor where your oil filter fits. This will allow you to run an external oil fiter and cooler. You can get some realy good external oil filters that you can clean and reuse. As for oil coolers there are quite a few to pic ...
