i run 31 st's, and have rolled once. low speed up at mundaring. actually it was just after my avatar pic was taken. work at a handrail company so bent up my own and welded it at home. sorry, dont have any pics but it is not hard to make them. mine comes inside the wheel arches mounting to the floor ...

those carbs don't like water at all but it's hard to say i had trouble with mine after going in deep one day,and to make it wors i stalled it and had to be towed out buy a hilux. Suzywest in midland have a good range of stuff. what area are you. haha u were in deep that day :) i would have been ...

i am running 7's (roh i think?) and i find my cooper st's lugs hit my springs when turning. have lost a fair bit of my turning circle :( never had any probs before when i used 15x8's. will be going back to 8's unless i can get spacers.

ok, i had a look at the other transfer cases the dude had, but there were heaps of types. came someone please make this easy? what transfer would be best to run 31's? and which model is it out of? i found one box that was in an 86 sierra ute, 1.3L engine. has the 4wd switch and looks like the shafts ...

when i rebuilt my 1.3 transfer case, i never came across any plastic bits? the springs for 4wd switch, and the shifter locating ballbearings.

cheers guys. i'll see if i can swap it to a later trans.
heh the last time i took those nuts off, i needed a 6ft extension on my breaker bar, and had to make up a tool to hold the flanges

be nice to have air tools....

will the flanges be a straight swap? blew up series 3? i think? they were cut and welded gears from a combo of old an new trans cases. would do it again, but dont have the money :( i know someone who will do it tho. ends up costing much less than billet gears. trans decided to pop into 4h at 90km/h ...

i know this is a from a while ago, but i need to get some info... i just picked up a pre-84 case like jrzook, but i can handle not having the speedo work. i'll just rig up a bike speedo my question tho, is the ratios. does anyone know if the ratios in the pre-84 box are much different to the post-84 ...

dont buy it. wish someone had told me before i bought my kit. have had heaps of problems since installing it. go with the shackles and springs for a few inches. save your money and get lockers!!!

Sorta, but not really. Picked up my new zook yesterday. Drove to the liscencing centre to go sort out the transfer, and on my way back, it started flat spotting, and died. I had to walk around shops asking if I could use their phone (Can't believe some said no) then had to get the old boy to come ...

im new to the forum as of tonight. heh good timing. i would possibly be interested in a run on sat. finish work at 12 so wouldnt be able to move till then tho. been meaning to get up to mundaring to test these crawler gears. what cars are going?
