No mention of longevity, that 'box is bred for the dyno, not 100:1 crawl ratios and 35" tires at 6psi! Guys in the US are busting gearboxes with normally aspirated EA82s.

If you tell me how wide the engine bay on a Sierra is I can tell you if an EJ20 will fit.

The 4WD boxes aren't strong enough to transmit all the power to the rear output.

A couple of Subaru nuts in the 'States are running divorced Nissan T-cases behind their 4WD gearboxes, using a front differential, however gearbox failure after a few months is common.

There's also a mob un in Queensland called VolksConversions who specialise in Dak-Dak engines into anything, but also spectialise in any engine into a Dak-Dak. I used a VolksConversions adaptor to bolt an EJ engine to an EA box (it was terrible quality though).

But as we all know there's a hell ...

How wide is the chassis (inside) on a Sierra, ie how much clearance between the rails? The DOHC EJs are pretty damn wide, while the SOHC ones are only damn wide.

I'm sure you could do it (if the crossmember didn't get in the way) but you'd need to make just about everything yourself (like an ...

Who's doing the steering Chris?

I just got Tumut Hydraulics to make me a set of custom PS hoses for $120, pretty reasonable, included fittings and stuff. Workmanship is first class.

Where did you snaffle the spherical bearing from Chris?

When I rose-jointed the front of the Ruby Suby I got four from Blackwoods $30ea. Have you been reading Jennifer's catelogue when you're supposed to be working?

I honestly don't think Brett would care, he's not in it for the money anyway - in fact he hates the game.

I also think there's a guy in Narranderra who's doing a 6" kit, just a backyard mechanic.

The big lift kits are harder to get right on the MY than they are on the L cos the shifter ...

BYB has never made one (I have the biggest kit they've done in my L series), Scorpion will never make one, SubaParts has never done one, HighRise is now marketing them, but that wasn't till late last year....

As far as I'm aware there is only one six inch lifted Brumby ...

R series diff compatability

R series differentials as used in the front of Navaras:

What is the interchangability of the centres between different models in the series, specifically R200/R180/R160?

Basically I want to use a Lokka in the rear of my Subaru L-series.

They are a great car, they don't go too badly for a pushrod 1.8 too.

Lift kits are available in Australia from 2 to 6 inches. They work by putting spacers in between the crossmembers, suspension and the body so that all driveline angles remain stock. 2" lift is an owner certified modification in ...

I have a 1987 Subaru 4WD GL Sedan.

6" lift, 235 Cooper STTs, EJ20 Conversion, blah blah blah.

This is the rig with a 5" lift and 27" BFG A/Ts.
