7k does seem allot for a pertrol (non gas one) I saw two petrols 60's for under 5k on the way back from Lithgow other day and one was on gas, both "looked" in good nick.

I'd say hes outlayed 3-4k on mods and is trying to reclaim some of it

Thats impressive do you have power steering?

I have a slight bow in mine (stock 40 with factory PS) from hanging off the steering wheel (im 100kg) and forcing the feel to turn after smashing a CV and it only slightly bowed that bar, you must have hit somthing serious to do that?

Im 99% sure you the TD04 isnt water cooled so you only have to muck around with oil lines

I'm going to attempt a TD04 after easter assuming I can find a stock manifold easily enough will let you know how I go

Interesting I've been thinking of dropping a TD04 on my 3B they are easy and cheap to find (stock turbo on a wrx) few guys in states have used same turbo with flipped manifold with decent results

Where did you run your oil lines to and from? The pan and the vaccuum pump?

Thanks guys apprecaite the quick and positive responses. One quick questions when I take the caliper off Im used to having a rubber extension as the last part of the brake line which means you can hang up the caliper out of the way while working.

On the 40 its a solid pipe same as rest of the ...

Is this a broken CV?

Hi guys quick question for those of you that may know. After the last outing in the 40 and some dodgy rock climbing etc. I have a problem where when I lock the hub in on the driver side and drive it makes a horrible grinding noise and basically wont move.

I've jacked up the front of the truck and ...

7k is steep for crappy 2F but the roof!!

Im guessing they have had to drop the seats due to roof height? Which means relocating the fuel tank?

If Al Capon drove a cruiser it would look like that :D

Im new to the 4x4 scence but having a long history with turboed/dynoed petrol cars you learn a few things.

First dyno figures are BULL SHIT and only good for pub talk.
The figures listed on AXT site are flywheel figures not at the wheel (ATW) which is what your getting when you say 31kw. When ...

Toyota dont make V diesels your current engine is a inline 4 they make a H or 2H straight six which will fit your car with some work

Not 100% on the 2F but when the main rear went on mine (3B) the box had to come out, which is a bit easier than taking the engine out (only a bit)

Hmm ok thanks for advice, I have a pretty good knowledge of turbos etc from wrx days hence my leaning towards them as I know how to make them work (on petrols anyway)

But I like idea of not having to muck around with manifolds etc with supercharger idea

BJonroids, aka Rob, did a 2h swap. he rekons if he had to do it all over again, he'd get pretty much the whole front cut as you'd need a lot more than just the engine...ie radiator,hoses...etc.

my 2c.

This is going a bit off topic but if ...

Main reason I want another engine is Id rather build up the replacement engine (if it needs it) then do straight swap, if it take out 3b and work on it its out of action for longer and the crusier will soon be main mode of transport.

Stackson have pmed u re ur 3b

Hi guys my 3B is looking bit longth in tooth, I think its done a head gasket and its burning shit load of oil etc.

I'm looking at either getting another 3B to build up and swap in or I have option to get a H motor (6cyl diesel from a HJ45) for a reasonable price. To me the HJ45 looks identical ...

Thermo fans on BJ42 and general overheating

Hi I've been having problems lately with big hill climbs and continous low range off roading where my 40 starts to over heat. Its the orginal 3B diesel with just over 300k on it and around town and general driving it is fine and temps never go over half (normall sit on 1/3).

The raidator is only ...
