Aftermarket ignition

I'm looking at putting an aftermarket electronic ignition on my cruiser, and was wondering if any of you guys had and good/bad results with any of the major brands. Hey, I was just wondering what was required to put electronic ignition on my '76 2F engine. I've heard nasty things about the Pirana system, and was wondering what else can be used.
Will anything off later model cruisers fit??

Cheers,

Rick
