Re: Uni Joint Issue

First there are 4 Circlips to remove.
Use a big hammer and keep pounding it on either the uni OR the ears.( use socket)
Sometimes they are stubborn but budge in the end.
You are just not hitting hard enough.

Re: hilux starting issue

Possibly starter motor will need rebuild.
The auto elect. can do a test in the vehicle and will measure how many amps it draws while cranking.

If way above normal it will need a simple rebuild.

Take it back and do what Mick suggested.

1.4 tip. should be fine for most spraying.
Use the 1.7 for primers etc.

Now if you think you need a bigger nozzle try a little more air pressure and or add + 5% more thinners to the paint and soon you will find it spraying great!

Probably easier to take it to an auto electrician to get a Quote to fix rather than fit battery isolator switches.

Far cheaper to buy a diesel to start with and you need a lot more than just an engine

Even if you intend to do a little off road driving get the earlier model with the solid front axle these are stronger and work better off road.

A couple of ideas for you to consider

Tack weld a plate to the seal and then silicone seal it all back into the hole, there is no pressure in side so it would be OK.

Or cut a round plate like a frost plug in an engine block and press and seal that into the hole.
