My boss has a 1982 short wheel base land rover. Not sure what model or anything but it has a 1985 3.5 rover in it, fully regoed and engineered. New fuel pump, new battery, twin suv's, new muddies, roll cage, starter moter and other few bits and pieces.

Bad points, paints peeling, motor overheats ...

yeah had a look wasn't autotrans I put in. was texamatic power steering fluid and transmission fluid for ford 4sp automatics.. I've got some castrol power steering fluid should I drain it and put that in instead?

well yeah still drives perfect might just take it to my mechanic n and get him to have a quick look if he can't work it out get him to adjust the idle at the pump n keep going

Thanks heaps for that mate will check that. Yeah last thing I want is to start fixing things that are not broken to get this sorted. ends up costing $$$ when you fix things to eliminate them. injector pump rebuild and injectors is like $1400 wouldn't want to fix things like that when it was fine in ...

stock standard 1HZ 4.2 diesel. yeah will change the fuel filter and see what happens. Otherwise might be worth taking to united fuel injection just to make sure everythings o.k

last service was 4000k's ago, oil change and oil filter, air filter change. Next service fuel filter due. Might just change the fuel filter and see if that helps.

on another note I flushed my power steering fluid the other day and the fluid that came out of it was filthy. I got 1300kms to both tanks. So presuming your correct bout the sub being 50litres thats 140l = 1300kms.

so 10.7l/100kms

thats a 1997 hzj80 with 330,000 on the clock, stock standard.

Another question for ya all, considering I get good fuel economy and it doesn't blow ANY smoke what so ever would ...
