air filters

know F1 cars don't have major dramas with dust, but 9 out 10 teams use K&N oiled air filters. These guys spend millions so they can and do investigate all the options, so if they find K&N the best blend of filtration & flow, its good enough for me, regardless of what that graph shows....

Trials

Great weekend good to meet lots of people

I am surprised that external or internal cages are not compulsary (sp??)

I think that a cage, window nets, helmets and most proberly harnesses should all be standard. If you have the money to compete you have the money to put in the saftey items.

Clutch

Thanks guys I had a look at it at work and when I got home. The fluid was quiet a bit low and it looks like I have developed a leak around the master cylinder on the firewall. Might have got a bit of air in it cause when I pump the pedel it primes it and there is enough there to change gears

Will ...

Tube Bar?

Who do you know around the Sydney area who makes Tube bars. It is for a mate of mine with a hilux. He also has a high mount to go into it.

Could you also list prices you paid and what you thought of it.

Thanks all. Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

At my company we employ a Consultant to work on 2 software packages at $150/hour plus.

I know $1800 for what you got done seems like a lot. What I normally do is add up the cost of what it would take me to do it.

I know a lot of people say if you do it your self you pay $0/hour. But stuffing ...

Removing weight is all good, BUT, placement of weight is just as important. As a couple of examples:
V8 supercars spend thousands of dollars to make their cars as light as possible. Why do they do this when they have a minimum weight? Its so they can put the weight back on the vehicle where it ...

Weight Reduction

Did a bit of searching and found some information.

There is always heaps of questions and comments about getting more power out of a 4x4. I was going to bring up weight reduction. As sometimes this can be cheaper and easier to do.

The purpose of this thread is to gather different ideas on reducing ...

Yep Straight LPG all the way for your setup it will serve you well. I get about 300 km out of about 80 litres of LPG in my 305 V8.

It is great to have and cheap. I will mention though LPG gas does run a bit hotter than petrol.

BS

I wont call BS on the water compression in the guns on the fighter plane they could have used another fluid. They could have used this but I know the most common method is as Shadow pointed out. Anyway the point is water does not compress as much as air.
