So basically I'm gonna try and pick a write off body which I can stick in the garage and work on and when its ready get it painted, then just take ...

80 series body cost

How much would I be looking at paying for a wrecked body of a 92 80 series?
Doesnt need interior but needs to be in good shape from the front to behind the drivers doors.

Awesome duder, I've had my fair share of problems but it's all worth it. I bought my petrol 92 GXL with 250xxxk's on it, problems I've had so far; - Seals in steering knuckle and diff had gone, thus leaking oil into the steering knuckle and leaking out around the ball joint, this looks like a big ...

Doubt it's a wheel bearing as it would still be there even with the shaft off it, but have a look anyway and check for any brinelling on the outer race. My bet is something in the front diff is broken, perhaps a tooth on one of the gears and the knocking is it skipping a tooth and hitting the next ...

Whining sound - 80 series cruiser

Hey guys so I got the car in pretty good condition after a front end rebuild and got the part time kit installed, all has been well but I have noticed after say 20-25 mins driving it makes a loud whining sound from the engine bay, and I mean loud, now I now it can't be a failed bearing in the motor ...

80 Series transfer case

Well today we went to install the part time conversion in the 80, we got up to dropping the oil when things started to get a bit iffy, there was max 500ml of oil in the case, however no bits of metal on the magnet or in the case/oil. All the gears looked brand spanking new, meshed with no backlash ...

Bumping this one back up for some updates, well I recently got a loud squeaking and came to the conclusion is was the universal(non greasable) on the front tailshaft, so we dropped the front driveshaft off and took it for a spin to see if the noise was there, it had gone. So we picked up a new uni ...

I think it's the steel being folded too sharply and it just stresses it too much and cracks it, seeing as they don't heat bend them or anything. That's all I know

Where abouts are they cracking? I inspected my C pillars which have be known to crack and they havent cracked yet. I have done some rework on cracked welds before and on sheet metal it's quite simple to stop it, just drill a hole and either end of the crack and weld it up, and 99% of the time it ...

Well see it's got 6mnths warranty with some people, so basically if we find out the gearbox is rooted when the light oil goes in, they WILL rebuild it under warranty, I'll cause them alot of shit otherwise if they tried to hide the fact it was rooted. I'm in brisbane atm, and was wondering where I ...

80 Series problems and suggestions

Ok well I recently turfed my old suzuki sierra(god bless it) and bought a 92 80 series GXL 5spman/1FZ-FE. Now I have a few problems which I guess is sort of understandable as it has done 240,000k's. Firstly there seems to be some sort of driveline backlash say when im in 5th or any gear for that ...
