205/70/15 tyres = 669mm

as of jan this year an increase in tyre size went from +15mm, to +50 mm, in qld.

so, you can fit anything up to 719 mm.

pick up a few tyre brochures, most have mm measurements, find one as close to 719 mm.

ive asked repowering questions before which went down a path of:

fit a G16B, and adaptor.

fit a G16B with jimny head to minimize wiring conflict, and adaptor.

fit a G16B and vitara auto trans (cause i like auto), cause the jimny ...

350-400 from my 2001 soft top auto (series II, dual airbags, G13B motor), around town, depending on how i treat the throttle.

480 at engine konking out on side of highway, followed by emptying contents of jerry can into fuel tank, and continuing to nearest petrol station.

windows always down, 100 kph easily, approx 1/2 throttle, hills?? what are they?? none in townsville. 110 kph still easy. did hold 100 on the way to charters towers (sort of a hill, well, an incline anyway), more gas tho.

wouldn't you leave a long motor intact, not disturbing any gaskets not needing to be disturbed?

does it raise the compression? are sensors in different places? does the loom fit better? is it to do with the cam sensor ...

either towing heavy loads, long distances, highway speeds, to camp sites,

or just a heavy load (not towed), long distances at highway speed, to camp sites.

if i get a G16B long motor, put the jimny manifolds and ancillaries on it, run stock harness etc, and run the matching AW4 box, will i need the vitara trans control module? or can the jimny one be adapted/ or is same?

went camping in my jim last june, myself and two kids, the wife stayed home. we pulled a 7'x4' box trailer, 9 hrs north of us. went fine, veerrry slow accelleration, forget overtaking, but sat on 100 with some ease. got there and home again without any inconvienience.

i remember reading somewhere on a forum, that vitara coils may fit a jimny. it was some thing wierd like vit front coils on rear of jim, or other way around , vit rear coils on jim front. is this correct, which way around? and what coils go in the end that doesn't get the vit ones?
