. That said Drag cars use massive CLR's as they use thin wall tubes. drag cars generraly use 1.625" (1 5/8") tube with .083 wall in 4130. at least the ones i know of, but im unsure of the CLR of the dies used. and of the extra strench from a larger CLR. thats why i was wondering if the thinner wall ...

I figure 1 3/4 was going to be the most common size, just i cant find a supplier of imperial mild steel tubing that is reasonably priced (DOM pref or ERW) though it would be handy in cold rolled too for sliders as there ont as criticle. Also i figure shock hoops and the like would generally be ...

32 nominal bore is 42.2 or 42.4 OD, depending on manufacturer, which is why i was wondering if a 1.75" die will also bend 1.669" (42.4mm) tube as well as 1.75" a i can get quite decent pricing on 4130 in that size. Also in 1.75" (1 3/4") whould a 6" or 7" CLR die be more flexible in application?

he has seen the rocky-road coil kit (was my original plan), and said it would be ok with lower springs ie: 3-4" extra lift max. changed my mind to SPOA YJ kit as 3K+ for the coil kit v 1.5K for the leaf kit, plus diffs etc... for not such a huge gain. I asked him about it and he seemed to think it ...

Is all cool now, turned out the be that the 5 speed bell housing was made of cast iron not alloy like the 4 speed one that used to be attached to it,
as the cast iron one was thicker the pressure plate wouldn't quite fit.

Cheers for your responses.

I run twin 40 side drafts on a 1200cc a12 motor in my datun 1000, and there is no problem with over fueling or angles, though the head is ported pretty heavily, as the motor came out of a race buggy.

Yeah, it probably is a carb prob, 2 things can happen, from onle ever running gas.

1.)the diaphrams it the entire fuel system dry up and crack as there only source of lubrication is fuel.

2.)you recuire more air into the carby when running fuel and this may be causing it.
