buying a disco.

hi'
im looking to buy a v8 2000 model disco for a daily driver/ tourer.
my disco knowledge is pretty limited (previous gq owner) so was just wanting to know what to look for, such as how many ks, any inherent problems, auto or manual,
and overall reliability.

any help is appreciated.

simple and easy is hide a toggle switch in the cab that swithes the ignition from within the engine bay. if a thief cant hotwire it from inside they will cut their losses rather than popping the bonnet to try and find the problem. (more time spent means more chance of getting caught)

trying to decide on diffs for buggy and am looking at either GU, built dana 44 or dana 60s but cannot make up my mind so any help would be great. i am leaning towards GU but would like to know strength differences.

so would i be right in saying that if the new arms produce a near perfect angle to the chassis with a five inch lift then with the correct shock these should produce five inches more down travel than a standard arm :?
