Re: Rav4 economy
I know about three people with RAVs and they all complain about crap fuel figures....although 15/100 seams high.
The 'cruiser forum talks about getting about 12L/100, but figures of 17/100 loaded on trips, or 15/100 in traffic.

105 Series Advice
Ok... After many years, and several vehicles....I have left Land Rover land...no more Patrol....and for the first time have joined the Toyo land. With the new GU next year I think we are seeing the end of live axle non-commercial vehicles....so I have bought this with the aim to last up to ten yrs ...

PM Bingham about his 05/06 3L and the hand grenade it turned into! :D Agree the Common Rail ones seams to have ironed out most issues - but still hear people having issues with the idler tension pully, esp post creek crossings. Would be interesting to talk to someone who works for Nissan about the ...

Question.......pardon my ignorance, are these still being made by MR?
Whats the scoop on this Ashcroft mob? If I buy a Puma, should I seriously consider an axle upgrade?
Would like to at least put a rear locker in - how does this effect with ETC?

Re: 4x2 disco?
I did a front axel once- just drove around in 4x4 for about a week, but can't comment from a mechanical point of view if there are any lasting issues. But can't see any major reason what the issue would be...other than if you had a crash and the police investigated it.

Re: My new toy - Series 1 Disco
My only bit of advice is if you don't know much about LR I'd recommend using someone who does - ie not KMart etc. Then again LR is generally very expensive (dealer) Landy's will go on and on if looked after - but cannot handle the punishment a 4.2 Cruiser or Patrol can take. They need regular ...

Re: 3.5 v8 excessive fuel consumption
Well done mate. I would be stoked if I could get that. So other potential Disco members aren't disappointed, I've had a 3.5 Rangie and 2x 3.9 Discos, and have always averaged 18-20L/100 on ULP, and 20-22/100 on LPG. 16/100 was maybe for highway, easy on the right foot, etc. However, current Disco on ...

Re: Prado v's Discovery >$20000
Diso. I have had three with LPG - and never an issue. Just tune for gas, and change the plugs as needed. D2 have a good rep - and the Td5 is great, esp if mated with the auto If you go for the disco - just ensure it's one that has been serviced regularly, best if by someone who knows LRs, and ...

Re: Disco 2 TD5 vs Defender TD5
Yeah mate, my thoughts are it coms down to comfort and ability I currently have a 95 Disco - and despite everything, it is a pleasure to drive The old man has had a couple of Defenders - the current one a Td5 - and there is nothing "comfortable" about it - unless you are a LR fanatic who lives in ...

Re: Ambulance camper
I saw some F series (or was it GMC) can't remember ex SA and WA for sale recently. Agree - they are very heavy for a caravan - I know the F250s were right on 4 tonne GVM. The Landcruiser 'modules' were prone to chassis cracking due to the weight and have a very poor departure angle, not to mention ...

Hmmm... see 25/100 towing is pretty good - I used to get around 20L/100 towing in the 4.2TD. Would be nice to rent one for a few days to test --- anyone want to rent theirs to me ?? What about standard 4wd touring - I've heard of 50/100 in the sand or is that just extreme? Also ...

I want to be able to drive what ever I come across when im out. I prefer mud and muddy hills but i still enjoy rocks and rock climbs. I enjoy every thing. That's what makes it a little hard the plan. Invest in driver training. Having all the toys in the world isn't going to help if you cannot ...

We know you're just going to gas it anyway
Now starts the test - can the common rail handle what no other Patrol in Bingham history has done - i.e, not blow up

Out of interest Swerve, what sort of economy are you getting. So hard to actually find someone able to give an accurate figure and not "I guess" or "a lot" There are a few threads existing on this, but again same deal. Yeah Guru that is precisely my issue. What is there? Fork out $60k+ for a 'Cruiser and get something that has the same inside as a 1990 model ... buy a Defender for $48k and get the same as a 1960 ... or buy a Patrol for $52k but have to live with the ZD30 What's the major issues you've heard ...

The New Defender Noob Question
Hi team I have a question about the 2010/11 Defender. Basically - am thinking at the moment of buying a 2010 Defender, Cruiser, or 3.0/4.8 Patrol Each has it's obvious benefits and downfalls - what I want is a 2010 4.2 Patrol :x :x The old man has had a couple of Defenders, and at the moment I have ...
