I saw the donor car today. It's a LC 79 series, with a 4.2 diesel engine (1HZ ?). The doors appear to be 1:1, the wings and bonnet hood look different but might still fit - it has all the parts, starting from the windshield - panels, side panels, front panels, including the grill, the inside of the ...

75 troopy project
Hi everyone, My name is Erez, I live in Israel. I have a workshop for offroad vehicles specializing in custom works. This is my website - http://www.overland.co.il - the site is in hebrew but there are a lot of pics, although it is still under construction. I'm a newbie in Toyotas. After 15 year ...

78 series body parts on 75 series
Hi guys, I can get some body parts from a LC 78 or 76 - I haven't seen the donor car yet but in any case it is a 2008 model. I have a 1998 75 series troopy. Has anyone here ever tried to use 78/76 parts on a 75 ? My troopy's body is in very bad condition, and used body parts here are scarce and ...

This is our new addition to the family: http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/j8JYUA0JSEednyFRwi3o2A?authkey=Gv1sRgCLSWp-ys3YW1Pw&feat=directlink (not sure why, I can't use the 'img' button to put pics IN the message?) As you can see, it is quite banged up, I got it from the military with 420,000 km ...

3rd door conversion for HZJ 75
Hi everyone, I did a search but couldn't find anyone who did a 3rd door conversion on their own, and also didn't find any places that do a 4 door conversion. I want to add 2 rear doors to my truck (I have a 4X4 workshop here in Israel so I have the capability and the tools). I saw a fiberglass ...

LC HZJ 75 transfer case questions
Hi guys, I just defected from the Landrover forum :-D. I have a Defender 130 and I bought an ex-military Landcruiser 75 1998 model. It is not a common truck in Israel, which means I will have a lot of questions to ask here :-). The transfer case on the truck I bought is broken. I can get a good deal ...

McNamarra locker on Discovery II
The truck is a 2001 Discovery TD5, we want to install McNamarra lockers and understand that we need some kind of adapter to the Discovery 1 differential locker.
Is this true? Does anyone have experience with this?
Thanks,
Erez

Maxi Drive versus McNamara front axle shaft
Hey guys, The truck is a Defender 110 (TDI 300), 35" tyres, 4.7 ring and pinion, and ARB front locker. At the moment the truck has Maxi Drive 10 spline front shaft and Land Rover 110 CVs. On Friday, for the first time in 3 years, I broke a CV. I am undecided between again using LandRover 110 CVs or ...

Hey guys, I built this Defender. I'll try to answer your questions. The front suspension travel - the truck owner thinks he's an F16 pilot (you DO have F16s in Australia, right? ). He drives on the open road (offroad) at a speed you would not believe. Therefore, I planned the front suspension with a ...

4"/5" lift for long Patrol GU/GR
Hey guys, I want to lift a long Patrol GU/GR to 4" or 5" using coils (without a body lift). I know it's a lot, but that's what the truck owner wants. This is the truck: http://imgsrv.pic4u.co.il/fd7e2ffe9b152a85a74c719d2ddbacf0020000.aspx http://imgsrv.pic4u.co.il ...

Hi guys, I have a few pics from my workshop. The first pic is of the upper shock mount. It is built from 10mm with 6mm reinforcements on the side. It connects to the 3 original shock mount holes. The height of the upper screw (the shock's screw) is according to the type of the shock and its length ...

Hi guys, With a standard 2" lift such as OME/ToughDog/etc. there is no need for castor correction and no need for a CV joint in the front drive shaft. When the articulation is larger than the 2" you will need a CV joint otherwise you'll get a lot of wear on the U joint. I distinguish between the ...

Hi Mike, Yes, the OME 980/981 fit the rear spring mount exactly. The OME HD (420lb) are good only for heavy loads. They're very comfortable if you have a loaded hardtop. The Nissan springs (OME 980) are somewhere between the 280lb and the 420lb - I don't remember exactly, if you like I can get the ...

Hey guys, The 110 softop on the pirates is mine. The OME 980 are the MD for the newer models of Nissan Patrol, if someone has a loaded hardtop 110, I recommend OME 981 (HD for Nissan Patrol). In the rear of my truck I have 14" adjustable Fox shocks, I changed the upper mount of the shock. It gives ...

McNamara front half shafts and CV joints
Hey you guys, Does anyone have experience with the McNamara front half shaft and CV joint ? As I understand it, the CVs belong to the Land Cruiser 73 and have been adapted for the Land Rover. Is that correct? Do you think it will handle a 35" and more tyre? At the moment in Israel the only option ...
