Why did Nissan in all their wisdom discontinue the TD42??? Surely a couple of extra mpg of fuel being burned off into the atmosphere is more environmentally friendly than an engine full of oil & coolant being dumped all over the road every one of thes 3 liter disasters grenades itself, plus the ...

Wow. :!:

I'd be willing to walk quite a few miles if it meant saving between $ 3,500 - 7000!

If your 4 wheeling buddies don't kick in some cash to help you out there, I'd be looking for another group to go wheeling with in the future.

Thanks. Have sent Coburg truck parts an email. I do have a Donaldson catalog, but all of their air ram snorkel heads that are listed have 6" or greater inlet diamters.

Thanks GQ351 - where did you find a snorkel head with a neck that fits a 4" tube? All I've been able to find so far are the massive heads for big rigs with 6"+ necks or the ones from Safari with the skinny 2.5" necks.

Both 2Ls and 3Ls are naturally aspirated, so it is unlikely anyone has done this swap. :D Now if you were wondering about the CT-20 from a 2L-T, there are much better turbo units to use for a swap.

Since the outside air is what is cooling the intake air (in an air-air IC), the IC will never cool the intake air to or below the outside air temp.

Sorry guys, forgot that you used metric (500 deg F sounded awfully cool). We Canadians have supposedly gone metric, but since the U.S is still S.A.E., and they are our main trading partner, we also use that system alot. The chances of finding a metric pyrometer around here are pretty slim . One more ...

There seems to be a couple of schools of thought about whether a thermocouple should be located before or after the turbo. A somewhat unlikely scenario with modern thermocouples, is that a piece of the thermocouple could break off and hit the turbo impeller. If this were to happen the jolt to the ...
