Re: Rear Diff Swap

Your ln106 rear diff will bolt into the ifs housing without mods, negating the need for different flanges (and im 99% sure they are the same anyway).

Caster CAN cause bump steer, but you need alot of it to feel it. Toe can too, worn bushes can too.

If you increse the length of the spring so that at ride height the shackle is 45deg you will get extra travel. Think ifs rear spring in hilux with 200mm shackle. It works, my hilux used to have that exact setup.

if you have 2" over standard shackles in the front then you need 3 degree wedges, best bet is to get an alignment and that will tell you exactly what you need.

You wont need them for the rear.

If your pedal is rock hard with no vaccum then I doubt you have any air in the system.

It could be your MC just creeping with the extra grunt of the vaccum, or it could even be a bloating brake hose too.

Just a few ideas.

This is pretty much mandatory for "rears up front" as your stock steering arm will bind and eventually crack off with all the extra travel.

Dont swap the springs till you do the x-over.

Re: Roadworthy - rust?

You shouldnt get failed for surface rust, however its not going to look good to the inspector, its a sure sign that the car hasnt been maintained very well and if he doesnt like visits from the authorities he will go looking for more advanced rust.

According to the DOTARS document on rust there are ...
