I have run 285/75R16 Silverstone MT117 Sports on my D2 for months now and I couldn't be happier. I moved from 32" BFG Muds and I have found the Silverstones wear much better and have performed much better than the BFG's on road, mud, loose stuff etc etc. Plus they cost me $228 p/tyre fitted and ...

Re: Baby seat anchors

I thought they were on the back of the seats???? Yep, if it is a D2 we're talking about, if you have the hook and nut then you can screw into the back of the rear seats. Also, does the cargo barrier not have a hole in the middle with a plastic flap for seat belts to pass through....mine does? Aye ...

Discovery V Susuki bumper at Ormeau

If you are the guy with a red Susuki I accidentally knocked part of your bumper off today at Ormeau, I'm very sorry   . Felt very bad about doing it and appreciated you getting out of the way to let me and my mate in the rangie up the hill. Anyway, apologies again and honestly let me ...

My D2 came with standard 29" rubber and it is generally accepted that 32" is the max you can go on a D2 without chopping guards. I ran 32" muds for ages with zero rubbing and now run 33" with minor rubbing.........grinder is coming out this weekend  Hope this helps, not sure about D1's ...

Mal did a really good price for me on the front and rear maxi's and I am going to go around to his joint on Friday to thank him. I will take a camera and try and sneak some ...

I have spoken to both Graeme Cooper and Bruce Davis Re: the chip. I think I will go with Bruce Davis, a couple of reasons; cost, instillation time, power output, has the chips on hand and he is a landy specialist. Also try Tomraider on www.aulro.com although I don;t have one, he is having some very ...

What Slunnie said ;) I have a '99 manual TD5 and love it. Bruce Davis chip, (recently fitted EGT gauge to check on temps) AMV CDL actuator, 32" muds, 40mm lift, bull bar, 4.11 diff gears, Maxi drive rear locker, front axles and CV's etc etc. I know very little about the mechanics side of things but ...

Not surprising, customer of mine checked his EGTs with the BD "mild" tune and was reading over 800 degrees on a mild hill. Not good.... Some mappings are just not polished enough and place too much stress on the engine. Good programming doesnt warp manifolds either, another common trait of others ...

Yep, leave ARB alone for your rover. Sydney has heaps of decent LR specialists who can assist you much better and you will get what you want much cheaper. Do your research before as well, as 2" lift is easy and there are tons of spring and shock options. Decide what you are going to use it for and ...

Disco II will cope no trouble with a 2" lift and the 265/75R16 - this is what I run. No idea about fitting to a Disco 1 though. As Maggot said though, you should go the muds and they are a much better all rounder!! I have 2 good BFG Muds for sale with 65% tread (9mm) left for $200 - giving a third ...

Does anyone know of any custom bar work being made for the new prados - preferably around the Gold Coast or Brisbane area? Depends how you want it to drive really. I have a manual TD5 D2 and when I changed to 265/75R16 muds there was a noticible difference in low range gearing......1st low range would move along way too fast for the sort of off road driving I do and intended to do. Normal road driving was just ...

I don't think so as the standard MD front install includes conversion to AEU2522 CVs and they use genuine ones, which are stupid expensive. The $5500 sounds like what I recall even direct. it used to be $1900 per end plus the CVs/bushings etc. Direct was the best..... Mal has some of the best ...

1999 models have plastic head dowels. Hey Maggot, what are plastic head dowels? 6.5 rangie, all I would suggest is that what ever year/model you go for, make sure it has a FSH and make sure you get it serviced regularly and change oils at least every 10,000.....more if you play hard in the bush ...
