My mate just picked up a 1979 LTD with a 351 and FMX gearbox and extactors for $800

they are out there but if you don't want the 351 then a 350 would be the next choice

Engine ideas???

I am in the procees of rebuilding my FJ40 and want to put a different engine in it

My choices were either a

Injected 250 crossflow
Clevo 351 or 302

But i am now leaning towards a holden v6 as it would use less fuel than the other engines

Also i would like to have an auto behind the engine ...

If you want a performance 250 and if you are in Qld

There is an XE for sale on car sales that has a worked 250 for about $650

Extractors should be your first mod then maybe a bigger carby

Go the Clevo!

... And ... Dissy up front is where it should be!

If you're gunna put in a 351 crank you'll need rods too, but stck with the 302 heads, They'll already flow as much gas as anything GM came up with until very recently.

For fuel consumption there is very little difference between 302 ...

I've pulled the pin as well. As we were driving out to Denian for the sand our pyro gauge was sitting on almost 600 degrees just cruising on the highway. We tried a whole heap of stuff and couldn't sort it out so rather than damage the engine we've called it a day. Guess I'll have to come ...

Told the guy to change the flywheel and clutch to different types, now if the clutch goes he only has to buy the clutch, not both.

Strengh differences between 40 and 60 series

I have a set of 40 series axles sitting under my other Fj40 (1975) and thinking of using them in an up coming project.

My question is, are there any differences in the strengh between the 2. I know the 60's are wider but that doesnt bother me for this project ;)

They would be under ...

The mog has ran swampers since day dot me thinks and is still running the same TSL's, I think the weight factor has alot to do with it. Buggies are too light for them to be really effective maybe :?
The TSL's all seemed to do fine on most of the previous buggies to date from Haultech ...
