Hilux Steering Stops

Just wondering if it's ok to run with only the stops behind the axle in place. The front ones have been bent beyond repair and I don't know if I should be replacing them after cutting the old ones off. Only negative I can think of is that the load will now all be on the one stop instead of being ...

Thanks

When I fitted my lockers the front open centre was using a different size carrier bearing than the rear LSD. Same OD but different ID. Can possibly get you the bearing number of the smaller ID bearing if needed.

Any of the lifting equipment mobs should be able to sort you out, they'll sell it to you by the meter with whatever ends you want on it. Just take in a sample of the current cable and they'll match it.

As far as the carpet cleaning goes I did the same to my shorty, just hang the carpet on the clothes line and hose it until the water runs clear then let them dry naturally on the line. I did this and didnt have any dramas with shrinkage are anything.

High Mount into TJM Bar

Hi all, Been lurking around here for a couple of years and learned a lot, I just don't say much. I've come across a high mount for the right price and I want to fit it to my 96 hilux in my T15 bullbar. I know I'll have to modify the bar and make a cradle for the winch. Just wondering if anyone else ...

Had the same problem on my shortie, check your panhard bushes as this will allow the front diff to wander side to side, worse under braking. Genuine bushes seem to be the best repacement.

Just go to your local wrecker and get some factory hooks and bolts. The guy I use in Sydney said he's always got them in stock, quite cheep too. From memory the thread is 12mm metric fine.

I'm using a set of home made spacers on the front of my lux, basically the same as snake ones. You will need to shorten your steering drag link and torque rod or use adjustable ones. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but welding on steering components is a big no no, so an adjustable drag link is the ...

EGT Q's

Done a fair bit of reading about EGT's on outers. When people are talking about running at 500-550 degrees is that an absolute max or is that just the norm where it sits. I've just bolted up my CT-20 to my 3L and have it running at about 9lb of boost. On the freeway between the Gong and Sh!tney mine ...

Hilux Carrier Bearings

Hi Guys & Girls, I've got my front diff out on the bench fitting a locker and have found that the open diff is using 45mm carrier bearings where the locker requires 50mm carriers. My question is does anyone know the bearing number of the 50mm bearings as my bearing supplier seems to be lost without ...
