Unlikely, it should only draw milliamps. If you want to rule it out disconnect the ERPS and see if the battery is still draining.

Re: Snorkle Mounted Air Filters.

Street or track application?

I ran a k&n on top of my 4" snorkel. It was tapered, I can find the part no if you want

It will be both as it gets driven around regularly.

I found a K&N RD1460 that looks like it will do the job, just worried about the filtration qualities it has.

Re: 24v alternator info

I had the excitation wire on the load side of the 24v isolator. That way I had a visual check that it was on(light in cab) before starting the car. Light went off when the engine was running so I knew it was charging. You could also use the relay but take the supply from load side of the isolator ...

Whats the go with shielding gas? Is rental the ONLY option? How small a cylinder can I get? Is there a general rule of thumb for how long the gas would last?
Im seeing plenty of limits in gasless mig other than ease of use on building sites (wind).

I thought all CCDA cages have a log book, i had one and a number, they had drawings of the cage and every event the log book gets handed in. If you have a heavy roll you dont get the book back until you fix the cage.

Re: 24v lights

there shouldnt be any benifit to the lighting given that most are multi volt LED/HID. There may be benifit to less load on the 12V alternator but then there is the downfall of having load on the 24V alternator when winching in race conditions. (negligible difference but there all the same)

Re: Winch power cable

Battery isolators are not rated for switching current (you can't switch it under load) they are only supposed to be used to isolate the battery. they are really only good to make sure your winch circuit isnt live when not needed.

Re: Winch power cable

Just my 20 cents worth. I have or will never run an isolator on the winch circuit, as I have seen to many fail when needed.

Don't forget that you are drawing a lot of amps for a long time if in some real tricky winching not just the 30 seconds that the isolators are rated at.

Re: gu xtra cab prior build questions

what state are you in?

In QLD, it would get registered as a per the chassis but you would be best to speak to whoever is going to do the mod plate/engineer cert (dependant on state) for the cab swap.
