BJ42 Towing Capacity
Hey guys I tried doing a search but I couldn't find any results. I was wondering what the Towing Capacity is for a BJ42. My Dad is selling the old Cruiser and someone asked him, but he couldn't answer the question, and I didn't know.
Thanks
Andy

The Disco does have more room from improvement and would kill the Prado the some more motification, I was going to GQ rears and 80 front shockies and extend the brake lines, but I was able to sell my Disco for what I bought it for, then buy the Prado for only $3000 more. Oh and the Disco had it's ...

Yeah I know, both Vehicles are setup for the touring, and have extra heavy duty Suspension. It's just that the IFS Prado with Swaybars Prado made it up to the same height, as the Solid axle Disco with no swaybars. I'm just saying the the Prado has less done to it and has about the same amount of ...

Living with Defenders
Since I've pretty much sold my Disco, I was starting to look for another 4wd. I was looking at other Disco's then I saw a Defender, which reminds me of my old BJ42, but with a better ride and air-con. I would pretty much use the defender for trips, and sometimes for driving around town. I don't know ...

OK my parents are going to be selling there Prado for $18800. I thought it would be cheaper. But my parents told me that they could sell the 4wd for 20% lower then the redbook value, and the company my dad works for will re-imburse them the difference. So I think that's a little rich for me because ...

Well I just got a phone call from my dad about 5 minutes ago saying that he will be moving out of Australia before Christmas for work. My parents have offered me their 2002 Prado TDi Auto, for about $12000-$15000. And it has the 2" lift with bilstein, Bull Bar, 275/70r16 BFG AT. Even though its not ...

Isuzu 4JB1T in Disco
Hey Guys, I was wondering how much would it cost to convert my Disco V8 Auto to take one of these engines (4cylinder 2.8L Turbo Diesel). I've been thinking about selling my disco lately and getting a Disco TDI, but I think there might be to much lose in money, plus I would have to transfer all my ...

The something happened to my BJ42 (passenger rear wheel), luckly there was no damage, I think it was caused by the wheels. They were suraysia I think, and were a very soft metal. So once the wheel start vibrating over time the stud holes got wider and allowed for more vibration, which eventually ...

Keep V8 or got TDI? Opinions needed.
Hey guys, I'm looking for some opinions. I currently thinking about selling my V8 LPG Disco, for a 300 TDI. Because of the lack of luggage space, in the boot. However, I walk to work everyday, and my girlfriend and I just bought a little carrolla as a second car. So I find it hard to justify myself ...

I made a similar change of vehicle too. I went from a 1980 BJ42 (I sometimes miss the toughness, and simplicity of that of the 3B  ) to a 97 disco on LPG ;) . What a ride difference! I think the EFI (hotwire) in the early rangies have some problems when on Gas, because if the engine back fires ...
