I have a firdgemate 55L. Works great, it can be used as a fridge or fridge and freezer. You don't have to worry about rust or knocking it too hard cause it plastic and has very thick insulation. Plus it's pretty cheap $969 with an inverter thrown in.

I'm going for a visit to Canada in July, I just priced some lockers for the Prado, total cost $1832.38 AUD shipped to my parents place. But then all have to put them in my suitcase......oh well who needs clothes.

If it's very bouncy, it means you most likely need new shockies.

ALL 60 series are leaf.

I'm with JustinC on this one. If you have the money you should look at getting the 2.8 TDI motor, and push the boost up.

Or rebuild the 3.9 for LPG and add of supercharger.

These posts have me thinking, I've never really attempted anything like this, (I've only done basic basic mehanical stuff) that's why I think I would need someone to fit the engine and other bits. But I'm getting more and more interested in this idea the more I think about it.

So $3500 for an engine, and $1200 for the adapters, plus another $2000 for exhaust and fitting (I'm just guessing). Plus I would sell the V8 and LPG gear which I think I could sell for a minimum of $1000. That's roughly $5800. That's not to bad I think.

My Disco get between 18-19l/100km on the highways, which works out to be about $10/100km. I the auto suck the lpg a little more though but it's still cheap.

I think anti-inversion shackles will stop acticulation. And you can always take a leaf or two out of the spring pack.

I bought my Disco from the son, David Knight who is a Mechanic there too. I had to replace the timing advance, and Battery within 1 week of buying the rig. Other then that the I've had no problems from the Disco.

I made a similar change of vehicle too. I went from a 1980 BJ42 (I sometimes miss the toughness, and simplicity of that of the 3B :cry: ) to a 97 disco on LPG ;) . What a ride difference!
